Firstly, I just want to say how much I love your picture; pandas are absolutely adorable and incredibly playful, and you captured that wonderfully! Also, I actually had to reread the description because I could have sworn it was colour pencil... Anyway! A couple of things I wanted to point out... First, the face is a little long and the ears a little... er, for lack of a better word, squashed. BUT! On the other hand, it's incredibly detailed; the individual hairs, the veins on the leaves... It's spectacular! And I love how happy and playful it looks; like, you can just see it in the panda's eyes: it wants to play. That... That atmosphere, I guess, is amazing; I just want to cuddle with it!

Thanks, hadn't noticed about the ears, and you're correct, it is gel pen, watercolor, and some colored pencil, in that order of dependency. Guess I forgot to add that into the description, my bad!

First off, I love pandas so I already love this piece XD Bias aside, this is still a really good piece, though. I like the composition of the piece, especially that you added a tree branch with leaves in there. It makes it more interesting to look at and adds some color. You also did a good job of drawing the panda itself. It looks very accurate. I also like how added some highlights on the nose, mouth, and eyes. Very nice realistic touch.
On thing I did notice however, was that the fur - especially the fur on the face - is very straight. This causes it to look rough and wiry instead of soft and fluffy like it should look. To combat this, make sure you think of fur as more like clumps and abstract shapes when drawing it instead of drawing it like separate hairs. You won't get a very realistic feel that way. Don't be afraid to get your shadows darker, too, in order to get a stronger contrast so it doesn't look flat. I would also suggest that maybe instead of doing just a flat grey background, maybe go for some blurry, out of focus branches with green leaves to match the ones have in the foreground. I think that might help pull everything together a bit more

Thanks for your critique. I had a lot of trouble with the fur actually because none of my white pencils were bright enough, and so I actually ended up using a water-soluble white gel pen and messed around with it until it looked decent. I agree with you that the fur still needs some work, and I'd definitely consider more background stuff. Thanks again!

Awwww, the moment I saw it I had to take a closer look, and-... WOW! This has got to be one of the greatest traditional water-colour pieces of the lovable panda!
The colours, the shades, the pose and the expression, it's oh so adorable and absolutely fantastic! A deviation totally 'd with respect to the fellow deviant!
