woohoo~ I love it when I finish a piece. Especially when you spend hours upon hours upon HOURS and when you finish it turns out amazing<3I'm in love with this piece. Seriously. I think it's awesome c:
The background and horse/unicorn were actually done separate... the horse was actually done as a Black Pearl coat to submit to Howrse.com, but I remembered I had this really nice background I drew and I thought the two would look awesome together. So I put the horse on the background, added a shadow and put a little more detail into the grass and ta-da!

Everything was done on Sai except for the first sketch of the horse. Background and horse combined, I'd estimate the amount of time I worked on this was around 7 hours or so.

That's beautiful Eclipse!! I'm so jealous! It's been taken me forever to get used to my photoshop. I love the colors and the fine detail; the thin lines are amazing.

Lol, I know right?? I've always wanted Photoshop since I first started drawing digitally, but I think I've learned now that Sai is almost just as good. I've seen tons of amazing pieces of art created with Sai. It's just a matter of experimenting and learning how to use it right. LOL, I'd probably get impatient too. XD Does it have a stabilizer maybe...?

Definitely would recommend it. It's a really good program. It only gets better overtime as you learn new features and stuff. ^^ Stabilizer is a little tool that basically slows down the speed of strokes, so you get smoother lines and stuff. So if you set stabilizer to 0, when you stroke a line it's fast and typically squiggly, but if it's higher like 14, the lines are slower, smoother and... not squiggly. XD

That would probably be a good idea. XD Sai has a stabilizer, I just didn't know if other programs had it too... but it is extremely helpful.
