Description Here's another of my earlier costumes, hmmm maybe this was my seccond full dress? ..whatever

The best part about this dress is that the empire waist is actually due to a separate little bodice/vest that goes over the simple loose dress. I really like empire waists and love to wear this little top over more normal shirts all the time!

That green section hooks into the front of the little bodice and can be changed out for other colours, although this is the only one I ever really used.

This dress is quite comfortable and was one of my favorites untill it got shrunk in the wash it still fits - as you can see - but the front and back became shorter while the sides remained long...rather odd. You can probably see the black skirt I'm wearing underneath here because it looks preeeety funny without something under it. Still it's possibly the most comfortable of all my renaissace/medieval costumes.

I'd love to try and make this dress; it's awesome! Would it be possible for you to post pictures of the separate pieces so I could see them separately for a reference? Please please please?

Very nice. You're so cute
Reminds me of Star Wars. Btw I really love this dress: [link]

And I'm also planning a dress kind of inspired by the dress Leia wears with the ewoks. I love ewoks and their dwellings!

Me too... I did make a drawing, but I'm not sure about the edges either. They are cut as in various lengths, so I'll just try to make something similar. Oh, and probably I'll make it without arms.

Yes indeed! I hope our trees grows that tall one day, when the world is a better and kinder place to live for them.

yeah I think it would look really good without the sleves

aye! I hope so too.
I was reading...oh a few months ago...this book on the giant redwood trees and I think they mentioned some of them were like 2000 or so years old - soo cool! and that in their life-span the top will often fall off, but then new trunks will grow up from the upper limbs and create their own little mini forrests all up in one tree. it sounds soooo awsome! I really want to get up in one someday...but it sounds like to get up there the guys had to do some pretty 'rofessional' climbing. sighhh.... I'd love to have a villiage up in a redwood!

Ahhh, I simply love redwoods. I visited some in Scotland in 2005 and was in paradise! I have some pictures of some og the huge trees, but I haven't uploaded anything. When visiting the most awesome trees I did not bring my cam...

By the way, we did visit a (they claimed) 5000 years old tree in Scotland, a yew. It was incredible! The most ancient living creature in Europe?

wooooooooow!! that is sooo cool!

aww I wish you'd had your camera! I'd love to see I didn't realise they had redwoods in Scotland. I'd only heard of them along the coast of California and Oregon. That makes me love Scotland even more!

The brittish isles felt soo much like home to me when I visited, but my one reserve on living there has always been that I'd miss the really big mountains and the huge redwoods.

Yeah, it really was redwoods. They were far from being as huge as some trees in the U.S, but still very big. Will see if I can find a picture... Probably not of the largest ones, though.

I felt very at home in Scotland, a lot more than Ireland... I need wildness and all that daaark green. Huge forests and lakes. Ireland was too civilized But I still miss the sharp mountains of Norway, the fiords and the wild forests.

yeah I felt the same difference between Scotland and Ireland.
I'd really love to see the fiords someday! I remember when we learned about them in geography as a child I thought they sounded mystical, hehe
