Happy Birthday *mirzers ! I was able to post tonight after all! I'm so happy! ^ ^ This came out a lot cuter than I expected it to and I hope you enjoy it. (I had some trouble with the body for a bit because I'm still trying to get used to it again. Sorry that it isn't inked or colored. =/ Still trying to get back into drawing like crazy again. XD

The face and chest look fantastic!
In comparison to the tail and the chest, there is not much detail. There could be a little bit more in the legs and the hips to keep everything consistant, but that could also be a stylistic choice. I dunno, I'm terrible at critique o.o
I love the fur, very lovely. She has a very slender physique.

No, you have a wonderful point, however, at the same time, too much detail in the legs would make them look more rigid and imply longer fur. I believe her character is mainly short fur except for the mane and poofy tail. I could be wrong though.

There are certainly ways to draw detail in legs without seeming as if it has long fur. :]

Not necessarily. It all comes to line definition. Even in nature, some "lines" will appear to be thinner than others.

That's what I meant. This was a small sketch I did on paper... I couldn't get the pencil to make thinner lines. hehe So I left it without them if that makes sense. Also, I had to REALLY darken this... You know how I draw. XD

Actually, he's probably right. A couple weeks ago, Oni got a virus in her laptop while she was browsing DA. Another friend of ours and I worked on it and saved it the other day. Get avast antivirus. It blocked it twice for me.

Thanks. That means a lot. All I can really give for advice is to look at photos or actual animals and watch how the fur shifts when they move or when the wind brushes past them. That and keep practicing.

I still think there's room for improvement. hehe With enough practice and a keen eye, I'm sure you'll do so too. You have to realize I stare at Frosty all the time, as well as various wolf calendars that I refuse to throw away. lol I also look at my friends' pets. =3

Thanks for the advice. And it's really inspiring to find out that even great artists like you practice a lot as well. It's odd that I just think that everyone who's good at art was like that since they were born and was never bad at it >.< Anyway, I'll definitely do that! I think I've got some old wolf calendars lying around somewhere too...I have trouble throwing things like that away as well...
