Wow I really wish I knew how to do that.... I may start experimenting with soem programs.
That's really cool. I like it a lot.

Thanks. It's mostly bryce work, so if you have that program, this isn't that far out there. The flames were apophysis, and were the hardest part to make. You can find that here, [link] .

It's beautiful!
But now the fractal-ignorant little me is wondering why fractals always look so spiritual?

very awesome man. i also think you could have been a bit more adventureous with the gradient, but amazing shape and composition

Thanks. I went back and tried different gradients, but none seemed to work, so I'm just going to have to go with the stars brightness on this one.

I personally think this one could have benefitted from a more vibrant gradient, but the shape of the flame is really, really good. Keep up the good work.

Quite possibly. I'm sure you know how to do it, but one thing you can do in the editor window is select each transformation and on the colour tab adjust the colour for that particular triangle. Fiddling with each of these can have some fairly radical changes.
Perhaps it might be worth to play with the gradient's rotation and the transform colours and rerendering as a separate picture?

sweet, you are good with apophysis. what settings do you use to render a picture like this?

Aeires In reply to coffeebean [2004-09-20 02:27:49 +0000 UTC]
This was a print, so I rendered it at 5000x3333, 2000 density, filter .2, and no oversample.
