Sorry. I goofed up the first reply. I do use Vue7i and PoserPro, but this dragon is by Swidhelm, found at renderosity, and is called The Skywyrm [link] In fact I have all his dragons. Thanks for the watch.

I hear ya. I haven't been able to upgrade yet to Vue 8. There are free trials and for Vue there are versions that are cheaper and allow you to add "modules" as you desire. You can also find older versions of both program, really cheap, especially Poser.

Indeed. I've taken the last 5 years to amass my 3D collection.

Sorry, not familiar with Bryce. And I don't recognize the .dae suffix. I know with Vue I have a laptop with 4GB of RAM and that could get pretty stretched and crash. My current machine has 9GB and is an Intel i7. I still find ways to crash it.

Sorry for the delayed response. File sizes vary. I sometimes end up putting many objects into a scene all with high res textures and if you don't do some adjustments the computer overloads. Luckily it rarely happens.

To long of an answer to put here and I don't know Bryce, but if it works on the same basic priniples: All objects in a scene are meshes and textures (image files often). The computer has to keep all that stuff in memory and at positions xyz and then account for light and shadow. So, when running out of processing and memory (interelated) you have to find ways of freeing memory. In vue, you can re-material an object imported from Poser with Vue materials, which can help a bit and can look better too. Using the native app tools and materials can help. Texture image files for figures/objects can be reduced in resolution somtimes. Turning a Poser or DAZ Studio figure into a Vue object helps alot. Using rendered figures/objects on alpha planes frees up lots of room. I suggest going to forums and websites dedicated to your software would be the biggest help. For Vue it's Cornucopia3D and I'm sure Bryce has a big site too. Unfortunately, the bottom line is, the better the processor(s) and more memory the better. Good luck.

Thanks. In the world of digital posing those are "dynamic" wings. They stretch and fold depending on how you pose the "fingers".

I actually rarely like 3D pictures of dragons because they tend to look... well, odd. I think you pulled this one off beautifully.
Welcome to the site! I hope to see some more stuff from you soon.

Thanks. You'll see more for sure. I may even bring out pencil and brush again. I've been so absorbed in the digital scene for the last 3 or 4 years I've almost forgotten my roots.
