Description when I was younger, I used to hold to these kind of motivation words (poems) to keep me going - err I even have those paste on my room wall/closet hehe it's still there until now

and one of my favourite would be this one; just a snippet from the whole poem

Even though this poem actually tells me to be the best of what I am, for me, it makes me feel that I need to do more, push myself over my limit so that I could get what I'm aiming for. The thing is.. NEVER be safisfied with what I've already achieved. Start from something small; and build on from there until I get to the top. Isn't that how things are to survive in this world?

I personally think that words (poems) could give more impact in changing my way of thinking (or mess me up lol)

So, I just feel like sharing this snippet as it made a huge difference in my life that made me who I am today

See the world from a positive side! (yes I'm saying it to myself.. really.. as I'm actually worrying about something right now haha)

Be The Best of Whatever You Are
By Douglas Malloch

If you can't be a pine on the top of the hill,
Be a scrub in the valley-but be
The best little scrub by the side of the rill;
Be a bush if you can't be a tree.

If you can't be a bush be a bit of the grass,
And some highway happier make;
If you can't be a muskie then just be a bass
But the liveliest bass in the lake!

We can't all be captains, we've got to be crew,
There's something for all of us here,
There's big work to do, and there's lesser to do,
And the task you must do is the near.

If you can't be a highway then just be a trail,
If you can't be the sun be a star;
It isn't by size that you win or you fail
Be the best of whatever you are!

I like the poem, it's nice and the picture is good too, especially how you highlighted some words and made them really stand out against the background. Great Job

I like Rudyard Kipling's - If as well!
the poem.. totally well said!

.. that poem is part of the English literature during high school! (no wonder it seems familiar!)
good that they put these kind of stuffs as part of the syllabus - better if they put more rather than some hard to understand poems hehe
