Marin of Koholint Island from Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening was one of my favorite characters forever... And though she's just a little sprite she's very sweet and inspirational. So I decided to draw her in a sort of wallpaper style. The sand has no detail because this drawing is used as the layout for my art site. I also realize that her necklace is inaccurate to her character design.. but back then I had nothing but a small official art to work with

oh..ok! thank you for telling me. i just dont get the "egg" thing. are you refering to the fact that the yoshi egg and the windfish egg are simular therefore its an ninteno "egg"? sorry but i feel like i should know this already.

Yeah basically. When they made this game they probably made the Windfish egg (which is what you're seeing) Look like the Yoshi egg on purpose as kind of a throw back to Mario.

The main female (the one in this picture Marin) has a father who also looks like Mario ^^... and there's a Yoshi doll in the game.

I agree. Marin is one of my favorite characters too. I think that Alttp Link definitely ends up with her. I don't care that she ends up as a seagull, she probably can turn back into a human any time she wants.

Link's Awakening was the first video game I ever owned. The playtime I have into that thing blows just about any other game away--and Marin is one of my favorite characters. I'd have to say that if I was ever infatuated with a little green and white sprite, it'd have been her XD
The game really doesn't get enough attention. It's the first Zelda to have any sort of anything involving romance, and even as a kid I liked that. I'd sometimes stop by the windmill and just sit there and listen to Marin 'sing.' XD Still do, in fact.
Ah, the memories. Thanks for the Marin art, anyways, I can't get enough of it.
