Description
My take on a darker version of the Doctor, the Predator, reminiscent of the Dreamlord or the Valeyard. A man who's been wounded one too many times, whose defenses have finally shattered under the guilt and pain and loneliness of centuries. He has finally turned his back on the universe, becoming the one thing he feared the most. The blood of entire worlds is on his hands, and there is no one left to stop him."See? I can imagine the Doctor having a nightmare like this about being covered in blood. It would say a lot about the guilt he feels about the things he did that were less than heroic.

The Great Intelligence was covering its ass. It wanted to the destroy the Doctor for foiling its plans. Why else would it not care that interfering with the Doctor would destroy the universe?

ooh! I have to tell you about this.....took my print of this with me to Salt Lake ComicCon this past week (where I got Time and Space signed by Matt and Alex!) I showed it to Alex when she was signing the other....her response was "Whew!" and she waved her hand like a fan on her face with a "Hot!", and a bit of a smirk!
Later when I got Matt to sign the other, I also showed this one to him (and everyone in the booth really) and told him the name of it was The Oncoming Storm....his response? "Cool!" so I told him what Alex said and did, and he replied "I wish I looked that good!"

A brilliant piece, and I agree with Betawhofic, the 11th Doctor had a terrifying air about him at times. Matt Smith was perfect in that role.

I always thought he would be evil, seriously, he killed his whole entire race a he now's he's friendly? I'm pretty sure he would be emotionally broken and distort.

He might not be evil but he's not really all that good either and is kind of morally ambiguous, even doing some horrible things. It's what makes him such an interesting character because he can hero who saves the day but can also terrifying, dark and dangerous. I wouldn't even consider him friendly per say; he just has a bit of a soft spot for humans and wants to protect them because they're similar to own species and doesn't want to fail them the way he failed his own species. His companions are his moral compass and without them, he becomes darker and twisted while losing his sense of right and wrong, which is why he needs them so badly.
A lot of depends on regeneration we're talking about too. Nine was darker, deeply haunted, depressed and the only person he truly cares about is Rose (in some ways, I think he's the most realistic of the modern regenerations). Ten was basically Bipolar with his dangerous, terrifying bouts of anger and mania, followed by bouts of depression (I think he may have actually had Cyclothymia, which is basically a milder form of Bipolar Disorder). Eleven was the only regeneration who seemed happy and carefree but deep down he was just as sad and dark as his previous regenerations.

This is amazing! I wonder what Matt Smith himself would think of this, I've heard him say he'd like to play the Joker from Batman.....this would be a premonition of that I think! I can't really see Eleven ever falling this far, but certainly Twelve could. I will always think of Eleven as the eternal optimist, even as he aged a thousand years on Trenzalore protecting everyone there. The quote about "darker hues" is from the Great Intelligence, a man hardly objective about the Doctor. No, those who felt Eleven's wrath, they earned it. Like what Eleven said to Colonel Runaway "And when people come to you and ask if trying to get to me through the people I love! {he composes himself}... is in any way a good idea, I want you to tell them your name. Look, I'm angry, that's new. I'm really not sure what's going to happen now." THAT is the Oncoming Storm!

It's hard to imagine 11 so serious and frightening because he's generally so childlike, goofy and carefree. 10 on the other hand could be angry, scary and violent (it's like he was bipolar or something, he always seemed to either be in a state mania or depression. He was definitely the most emotional of all the doctors, but I haven't seen the old series so who knows?)

Thank you so much for asking first, but I will have to say no. This is a rather dark and disturbing out-of-character scenario that I was just playing with--I would not want the Doctor to be seen like this, or promoted like this for a game.
(And if you are working on a game please note that The Doctor's name is "Doctor." You cannot abbreviate it with "Dr." because it is not simply a title or a degree! His name is Doctor. The title of the series is Doctor Who, and it is a question--the oldest question in the universe.)

The Oncoming Storm was Tennant's nickname. Smith was called the 'Raggedy Man'. It's in the official 50th anniversary magazine.
