NOTE: The buckle on his belly strap is now painted the same light grey as the buckle on the chest strap on his other side...See other picture to see what I mean. I forgot I hadn't painted it when I took this. >.<OH..MY..GOD.. Am I glad I'm done with this jerk. He started out so much cooler in my head. He's had a full body repaint, his hair, halter, and saddle have all been hand sculpted. He's a boring grey, with feathering that fades to darker grey then black on his feet. His saddle scene is GASP from nightmare before christmas, and he has pumpkins and lil' jack like heads with tassles trimming his saddle and halter. His tail knot is tied with something similar to jacks bat tie. He's got jack on his breast plate, zero on his forehead, and the boogie in his eyes. I HATE his paint job. The grey is chunky looking, even when I watered it down it refused to look smooth. However, I hope someone else likes him, because then I can sell him so I don't have to look at him anymore. This was the first major sculpted/complex painting piece I've done, and since I started him before halloween, I've improved my painting abilities. Yay for me.

there are a lot of good tutorials out there. For that pony I used apoxy sculpt with is a two part sculpting resin. I mixed it, sculpted the designs on the pony then painted it. The hair is al ittle time consuming at first if you want to do real hair, but it's really pretty easy once you get the hang of it. There are also plenty of pony rehairing tutorials. Tell her to check out mlparena.com if she wants to find a place she can get advice and check out other peoples work. It's a great place.

wow he came out fantastically well done. Over done a little but that kinda gives him a carrige horse look and I have two horses I decorate for stuff like that and it makes me want to make a carrige set like this for halloween hay rides ~grins~

still awesome, but if you ask me he looks overdone you know? Like way too much on him, course it also adds a bit of flash and show to the dreary gray so there you have it.

yup I know what you mean, that's why I'm anxious to have him out of hte house XD it was an ambitious project to be my first major one, and I suppose that's where the overdoing it came in

yeah that would be where the overdoing it came from alright. but ambition is what causes us to take on these rediculous projects in the first place isn't it.
