Gah! I'm seeing double and my eyes have gone dotty. But it's all for a good cause.
And I was hoping they'd win, though I wasn't sure if you'd draw the pair of 'em. So that's great to see, it really is. There's something about that sort of pose, where a character is looking back over their shoulder, that I really like, and it shows 'em both off perfectly. Those are really nifty outfits too!

all my life, but i took an art class my freshman year and senior year in high school.

Heh...I'm entirely self-taught (and that's a fairly long story). In fact, I was kicked out of my high school art class for wanting to be a comic-book artist. What is your age?

yeah,sometimes they ask you to do an assigment that you just wouldn't do or it isn't your style, alot of my work was inspired by the anger i had towards my art teachers. and i'm 22

It was my first day in art class at Kendrick High School. Since I was known for drawing in class, everyone thought it was a good fit. The teacher was one who appreciated "fine" art. He asked each student what they wanted to be. Of course, they all lied their asses off, claiming they wanted to be a painter, sculptor, architect, etc. I piped up I wanted to be a comic-book artist and he said for me to leave his class.
I was your age when I got involved in small-press fandom. I was fortunate. I had made my own comic-books on notebook paper for several years before that. So I had lots of practice.

that's funny because i lied that i did want to be a comic-book artist, and my teacher was supportive and tried to push me in that direction, but it wasn't until i discovered dA that i really became interested. i'll have to start a comic sometime.

I've been a pro for 18 years. Primarily as an inker, but have branched out in order to secure published credits, or because I couldn't afford a penciller. As a penciller, I still haven't got it right. It's good enough, but I'll never be considered great.

What's always best is, if possible, to find an admirable comic-book artist and befriend them. They can mentor you in technique as well as where to go so you don't end up like me.
