I watched you turn away
Into the waiting arms

With my emotional state
Is it a wonder I’m this way?

But clearly I was mistaken

There are no hands to be lent
No shoulders, not for me
My palms are slowly filling
No ears or even feet
The gasping recollection
I rewind in my mind
Every single second
Of how I came to find

I blame me for everything
Forever all my fault
If only I was different
If only I could cope
Fall apart by circumstance
Far out of my control
Not one single decision
Did I get to make at all

I sit alone and bask
Dream of pillows on the walls
Where I can tear myself apart
Behind these padded doors
My voice won’t bother anyone
My hands too strapped to write
My thoughts I will keep down inside
They will only harm my self

To keep you safe and sane
Another of my failures
To show you the world’s beauty
I tried to show you mine
Still I see it all around me
And I can just confess
This story has become too true
