Right so I said I'd post real art soon to make up for all the lame sketches.I honestly did not like Agent Carolina up until the very last episode of Season 10. Also I'm sure there's like a billion other Carolina portraits up on DeviantArt right now, but I honestly don't care because I just wanted to draw some Carolina.
Sorry the composition is fail, I'll fix it later. Only spent an hour and a half on this.

if Tex & Carolina were able to unite into one being...I don't think she would be human...more like a goddess...that's how powerful she'll be...the Goddess of Badassness & Awesomeness...completely unstoppable...completely unbreakable...completely invincible...the aura emanating from her itself would make the most toughest man shit himself 10x over...but what would her name be?...is there any way to mix Tex with Carolina?...hmmm...

FWIW, I'm not sure that the RT team ever wrote Carolina to be likeable. She's damaged goods, through and through. However, with her friends (now she's learning to see them as such), she might do better in the future.

Idk I never HATED her, but I guess I just never understood a lot of girls in thuis fandom imposing fake ideals that don't exist onto her... I mean at the very most, I always just assumed she had a really rough childhood, or daddy issues, or both. Which would explain her bitchy "I have to be #1 all the time" personality.
So no, you're right. Pretty sure she's not MEANT to be likeable, and they did an excellent job at that. LOL. I just don't understand the affinity for her that the rest of this fandom seemed to have up until she actually got some character development near the end.

I think a lot of people either saw something of themselves in her or something that they wanted to see in themselves. Lots of people out there have poor to non-existent relationships with their parents (although I bet none of them have dads who are military R&D developers who have no problems with human experimentation!

I don't know... That's possible. But the opposite of that can be true, too, I suppose.
I have a friend that HATES Carolina, like legit HATES her, and it's funny because they are extremely similar in "GOTTA BE THE BEST" personality sometimes, but I wouldn't TELL her that. Because no one wants to hear "hey I think you hate her because you two are so similar". LOL
Yeah not gonna lie, though. Her dad's a creeper.

As for why I didn't like her up until the end...
Well first of all, she was a really static character for two whole seasons, which was boring. She was always turbo-bitch, but without ANY reason to be a turbo-bitch, and she was whiny about not being Number One all the time. To me, that says "one dimensional character" written all over it. At the very least, I always suspected she had either daddy issues or a rough childhood or something to explain her ridiculous anger and bitchyness... That was the most I could pull out from her character, and I'm glad to have been somewhat right about that. Because it explained a lot about her.
But then in the last episode, she actually FINALLY has some character development when the Director was confronted. She turned from turbo-bitch into something else, something that proves that she's BETTER than just an angry, vengeful, and jealous woman. I'm being vague because I don't want to post spoilers, but that's my reasoning behind why I like her as a character now, as compared to before.

I see. "whiny about not being Number One all the time" is pretty much all I got out of Carolin as well. It's hard to talk about the last episode without spoilers, but she did have something of a lesson that she learned, anyway.
