In fact, this painting came into existence step by step and I absolutely didn't have a plan of what I wanted to visualize when I started.
You may see a visualisation of an occupational burnout in it or something else - I want to leave it to the viewers imagination (my interpretations also came after the painting was almost finished, so it may be nothing really intentional).

Hey Paul, thank you very much! Well, I think I prefer working with a limited palette - if you put an area with a contrasting (or more saturated) color into it, it would pop out much more than in a more colorful surrounding - and although I like monochromatic images, I really like extreme contrasts.

Yes, I see what you mean, you're reserving the big punch of contrast for the most important part of the image. Interestingly, in your "children of the Damned' painting, you've combined two contrasting fields of limited palettes.

Hey, dank dir!

Thank you very much!
Well, this started as an abstract painting until the shapes and ideas began to become clearer. So, this was painted quite spontaneously without preparation, vanishing point or reference (except the head, which is loosely based on a photo of my own face). It took only 2 days to finish, which is a very short period of time, compared to most of my other similarly detailed paintings.

My pleasure - that is the way I usually work. I start with an idea and then I go spontaneously with what is coming up. It is like something deeper inside me is talking to me via my hand. Very often the outcome is astonishing. Usually my drawings are what happens while I look at the reference, but it hardly ever is the reference. I admire your effort and your perseverance. Two days that is a very long time for me. I take hours only for my work, sometimes only one, very often 4 to 6 and in rare occasions up to 12.

Well, this one took at least less than 20 hours, maybe 15 (don't know exactly how much time). My average acrylic paintings of a similar size take 35 hours, I guess (ten years ago it was rather 50). But it depends very much on the kind of objects in a painting. And quite many of my paintings started with a rather clear idea and preparation before even holding a brush.
