This looks like a screenshot from the computer game Quake or something.

haha, thanks!!
I've been alright. A little bored though, schools out for the summer. Dreaming up my next project, hoping to steal a truck this Saturday and get some supplies at home depot.
How about you? What have you been up to?

I actually picked up a starter box for malifaux a while back. I really liked the card mechanic. The game seemed cool but for a couple people trying to pick up the game with no experience it was really clunky and in all honesty that (1st ed anyway) rulebook was a piece of shit. I downloaded the newer one but haven't read it yet. I've actually been wanting to give it another go. I really do love warmachine but I've been craving a skirmish level game. I think I'll pick up a new box though, I got the nicodem box but I wasn't really crazy about it, was thinkin about either the freikorps box or one of the guild boxes (LadyJ, perdita, or sonnia.)
As far as 40k goes, I've got to say, the more I play it lately the less I'm into it. I'm really not crazy about where the game is headed lately and it doesn't help that the two armies I play (Deathwing and Necrons) are very old and pretty bad. I played a game last week and I really didn't enjoy myself. Necrons are supposed to be coming up soon but I'm honestly not sure that I'll update them.
I'd love to play a couple games of Malifaux if you'd be down with showing a total newb the ropes.

The game is absolutely amazing, and i can see where you'd have trouble with a bunch of newer players trying to learn the ropes. its a complicated game, but it all makes so much sense, that once you learn it... it all seems so common sense. and yeah, first ed was so hard to understand. the new mini rulebook they put out is amazing though. I <3 it. it makes everything so easy to understand.
i adore Nicodim. one of my friends plays him, and he's pretty sweet with his zombie-making. I play Rasputina and Marcus, and... well, pretty much all of the Aranists, to be fair. i adore the Arcanists.
Lady J is HOT and totally kills everything forever. Perdita is pretty sweet, and Sonia... Sonia is a bit like Rasputina, only she shoots fire, not ice. The 3rd update is actually coming out in a few weeks, and should prove to make the game even better, as they're updating the story, and putting out new models and such. everything that they've done just improves the game more and more... thats why its amazing.
as to 40k? i gotta say i'm still loving it. though i've toned down on the Tyranids, since they nerfed the shit outta them with their FAQ and the new codex... been playing Orks like mad though, and will be picking up Dark Eldar soon. still loving my orkses.
and hell yeah I'll play Malifaux with you... i'm still a bit new, but I know all the rules and could totally show you how to play. its rediculously fun. you get the note with my number? i work usualy till 1 or 2 pm, and then am done, so shoot me a text or call me when you're free, and i'll drag my lazy ass up to BC for a game or 3.

This is really fantastic! How did you do the awesome water effect for the pipes?

Thanks! It's woodland scenics water effects. It's a pretty cool product and easy to use. It's almost like white glue but much thicker and pastier. It comes in a squeeze bottle; you measure how big your waterfalls need to be and make them on a nonstick surface (I used wax paper). Once they dry you peel them off and use more water effects to glue them into place. There's a short video tutorial on how to do it on the company's website.

Thank you! I used woodland scenics realistic water and water effects. Very easy to work with and the effect seems pretty good. Only wish the realistic water went a little further for the price.

How much does it costs then?

Acrux85 In reply to Thumaszz [2011-06-17 20:14:47 +0000 UTC]
I think it was about $15 for the bottle. So just what I did there would cost about $10, I used about 2/3 of the bottle on the two sections.

Isn't the same thing doable with cheap glue?

Acrux85 In reply to Thumaszz [2011-06-21 02:13:50 +0000 UTC]
You could probably achieve something similar with white glue but I don't think it would come out nearly as good. This stuff dries nice and clear and has a very smooth glossy finish. Glue would be duller and hazier I think.

Definitely my favorite part of the whole thing. I wanted to try some ripples and whatnot in the water but this was my first time using water effects. I had a really fast approaching deadline and I wasn't couldn't take any chances.

Thanks! I didn't really keep track of time on this project. I would guess a couple hundred hours at the least. I've been working on it for the past 2-3 months. The whole table is 10 feet long.
