I look up at the starsAnd contemplate
The generality
The meanings
For I've not known
What life is
What I need
I can't seem to stop
Turning about in my mind
Rolling facts around
Like a rock tumbler
Polishing, perfecting
Trying to reach
The gem within
Where, where
Does it come from
These thoughts
These needs
The things that
Never knew the other
I don't understand
I don't care to see
Why my mind
Won't let go
Won't stop
Turning like a carousel
I undergo
So many changes
So many different
Intances of thought
Where my being
Is torn asunder
And replaced
I live with this
Without it
Inside and out
Along and before
But never know
The beauty
For my life is but one
And I am none
Compared to the whole
That which my mind sees
That which I see
That which I know
And still,
I stare
Stare upwards
Towards the vastness
Towards the stars
