The reason that Flurry Hearth has big wings, is because clearly a alicorn has wings bigger than those of a pegasus, however, as Flurry is the first baby alicorn to appear officially in the series, it is normal that many do not know They waited for the size of her wings.

I feel sorry for Cadance having to give birth to a baby with such large (and sharp) proportions. Everyone points out her big wings, but no one seems concerned that the baby has a full grown horn as well. Its not small and nubby like other babies or foals! O_o
