Thank you so very much for your insightful and kind comment hun. It is an older work but, I know what you mean. It is also one of my very favorite works that I have done and yes....there is something about it that I can not quite put words to also. Perhaps it is a feeling or conveyance of sadness, longing, regret or memories of times long past and opportunities forever lost. I'm not sure so I guess it is up to each individuals thoughts or interpretation of it but....I very much appreciate that you also see more than what is visually obvious.

I love this so much! This is the type of art that makes my imagination run wild...She was his young wife that died from smallpox, afterwards he joined the war and ended up being killed in battle. She waits for him at the end of the bridge as he crosses over to the other side. Now they can be together throughout all eternity...It's all so very romantic!

yes I am sure thats true, within everyones art a part of us must go
true too as the years roll on life does become a bit more of a memory lane to us all.
I once remember our last ANZAC talking of his life and when asked about Gallipoli he said that was just so long ago and to him you could see in his face a far distant memory.

yeah life was tough in those days and war didn't make it any better..(did we learn anything seems not 
hard to imagine him in that horror that was Gallipoli
