I think I prefer the older ones too. TheyΒ΄re just a lot more fun to look at. Also that kind of simple design gives you more chances to make them move and express themselves in interesting and graphic ways. Of course I'm thinking in terms of animation, I have no idea what you plan on using these dudes for.

Thanks, I appreciate it! I agree that the old ones would be the best choice, if I were to animate these characters. 8)

I prefer the newer ones. I can see how the old ones might seem more unique, but I don't think you've lost the unique look and line in the newer ones. I think the newer ones have more personality.

Oh, these are awesome! Noa is particulary adorable, aha.
I like the first designs the best, personally. They're simple but very nice.

This is so cool! I personally like the second design, but maybe you could do both. Say, for their normal clothes, they could be drawn in the first style and then when they're in the space suits, the second design?
Either way, they look super cool!

I LOVE THIS I'm sorry I didn't get to comment earlier! I'm so bad at DA..! SOB.
anyway, is this for a comic?
the simple style is ADORABLE and I love it SOOO MUCCHHH. But I think in comic style it might get a little too much. Like, since they're all white except their hair and don't have noses it might be difficult to tell them apart if you do different angles/views, close-ups, etc. It kind of limits you, you know? The first style is just as adorable but works better in a comic setting, I think!
I think you're definitely going in the right track with this image you just posted [link] ! Stylized (which is what I think you want) but they have enough distinct characteristics to tell each other apart easily (with or without color): skin tone, different facial features, body characteristics - so you can basically do whatever you want with the panels! Also it allows you a lot of room for your style to change and grow rather than being stuck to something so geometric/solid, you know? I hope that makes sense! I can't wait to see where you're going with this, these characters seriously look ADORABLE OMGkjfhsjfhs

oh, don't worry about it! I know how you feel, I get really antsy when people see my early stages too...and I get really like "O-OH, DON'T MIND THIS, IT SUCKS BUT I WAS GONNA CHANGE IT-" but when coming up with a comic it's really good to have thoughts/outside info before you start! Otherwise you get stuck with things you may be indecisive about. *w*)))
ahhh I'm glad if that helped at all haha! ;w; You're definitely going in the right direction, it's impressive you though about how it was going to be drawing them over and over before you started! My designs change the more I draw them (they get simplified, like that recent pic you posted) so I figure it's like that with other people too, so I think having a style that can change without making people so obvious to it is on the right track. *3*)))
you're not weird at all, you're super great! *A*))) I'm really excited more arts, keep up the awesome work! (SERIOUSLY your arts are so awesome lately, I keep telling Mickey your stuff gets better everytime haha!)

Well, I started a comic once before, and I didn't think about the characterdesigns at all before starting.. Something I regret now, they were all horrible and became tedious to draw, haha. Not making that mistake again!
O-oh wow why are you being so nice, what did I do to deserve thisss 8'') I'm pretty obsessed with improving at the moment, I'm glad it shows, hahaha

its a toss up! i think its like comparing oranges to apples. its like "other dimension them" lol i really enjoy the old style, kinda gets me pumped in an old fashioned saturday cartoon way, the new way is real exciting too though! it makes me feel like theyre more tangible and interactable! haah when you first drew the characters, i wanted to go draw a "real life" version, but then you posted this so it was all good. XD
and yes! ok, dont take this the wrong way, but are you familar with lackadaisy? i think the kinda sexy sam should convey is the kind of sexy mitzi from lackadaisy. Im not saying theyre the same character or anything, but that sort of vibe i guess. haha, does that even make sense? XD also, despite the adorableness of dan and noa, i think sam has become (visually) my favourite.

You're totally right, she's the one I'm least satisfied with, of the new designs - I think I got lazy, haha. Thanks for pointing it out! I'll definitely draw her just as curvy from now on.

ahh i really just love the style of the older ones; with them you could experiment easily with elasticity and interesting perspective, etc.
I think the old ones look much more unique as well and easier to recognise as belonging in a group
hi i don't know what i'm talking about
maybe i just like the older ones better because they'd be easier to draw

I thought the number 2 designs seemed LEAST likely to get boring to draw. They're so simple, you could have fun going off-model or giving them a wide range of exssions. The number 1 designs are very good, but all those details seem like they'd be difficult to draw over and over. : P

It's pretty unique I think and quite awesome too^^
but maybe you could use a combination of the two styles?
