Antheia SlateI've been looking for something new to paint on. When I came upon these slate tiles it seemed like a perfect match. Every piece is different and full of texture and rich rustic colors. Long story short, I started painting on them.
Hand cut stencils, spray paint and acrylic on 12x12in slate tile.

The pink and white highlights are interesting. I'm not sure they're supremely effective against the muted background but they do have a brilliant quality about them.

Yeah I wasn't too sure about it. First I started with a blue and it just didn't stand off as much as I had wanted. I guess this is still all a experiment with new materials. Next one will be better.
