well.. it is not really practical for the work these days.. i loved doing them and i still know how. just dont have a chance to do them anymore. the inks run out too fast and it's too expensive to keep replacing them. and it is not convenient to sell them as freelance works as well coz digital works can be sent straight away.

To be quite honest, I thought this movie was great. I watched it over and over again. I recommend you "Days of Being Wild," the prequel to ITMFL.
But yeah, I like your artwork!

Can you explain me how you get such a realistic shading with markers? I though it's not possible to control the pressure enough to create different shadings with one pencil.

aaronwty In reply to Rushlord [2007-09-22 12:23:34 +0000 UTC]
yes it is possible. hm.. i think its quite hard to explain until i demonstrate it.. basically u dont press too hard and start shading from light to dark layer by layer. and u have to be very certain about every stroke. so think before u apply the strokes. they have to be accurate and neat. but honest it is quite a difficult technique to use.. i dont like using markers other than drawing portraits and figures.. haha

This is excellent. I've never seen this movie, but I need to add this to my favorites. You must be very skilled with markers.

I've never seen or heard of this film but DAMN this is one beautiful piece of marker work! Your use of media here is astounding; the dried out marker for the suit, the odd combinations of shapes and colours on the dress, the beautifully blended skin- it's all gorgeous.
Astounding work!

i mean do you a darker shade of the same color or the same color just more strokes or like a gray or somethin
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
aaronwty In reply to tehmoochness [2007-09-07 01:12:08 +0000 UTC]
when i want a slight change then i use the same colour to overlap with more strokes. when it is like a darkest tone then i will use a darker colour.

yeah i don't have a lot of variation in my shades so its kinda hard to do really dark shades

Well its not my thing but the film is great and its not boring ,, you don't like it then this is your problem plus i think you didn't understand the film ,,, and the colors in your art work far away from the mood of the film, anyways i respect your artwork but for god sake don't say the move was shit or crap cos you didn't get it,,, and yeah to hell with TOA

if the colours of my art is just the same as the movie there will be no point drawing and pple will say i copy and stuff. well its just my own opinion about the movie u dont have to agree with me. im glad u like the movie.
