Description Some attempts at polymer clay work. I should add that Shiyun made the sushi, cake slices, candy cane, and teacup. Excuse the crappy photo.

Here's a suggestion, I made the same mistake. When you press the eye pins into the clay, make it so that only the little circle is showing, that's how charms are supposed to be.

They're called eye pins, you can buy them at Michaels or Hobby Lobby or any crafting store. They come in little plastic containers with a whole bunch.

Oh my goodness, Winny! Those are amazing! Those are simply fabulous! I'm jealous. You have to teach me how to be so awesome with this "polymer clay" you speak of.
>3 Are you going to Afest?

Aariiadne In reply to Suu-mon [2008-06-07 21:52:06 +0000 UTC]

Thankuuuu Susan! Not going to A fest.

Polymer clay is actually really easy. It's just Sculpey and similar stuff. It was kinda unnerving after working with the earth clays in art class for so long. o_o After being paranoid about air bubbles and a-splosions and stuff falling off and everything for so long and all of a sudden not having to worry....

Awww. D8 Man, you shoullddd. dsfsdf You could so totally sell them.

Wait, did you get everything from Hobby Lobby or something? D8> I sooo want to make these now. EXPLAIN PLEASE? I hope I'm not bugging you. D8

Hehehe, not bothering at all! Shiyun and I are already thinking about weekly meetings. xDDD You could join us.

I bought everything from Hobby Lobby. Seriously, what can't you buy from there? I got 4 blocks of Sculpey III, a package of eyepins, a package of jump rings, and a bottle of glaze. Cost less than 15 dollars, and I still have most of the stuff left after making 25 or so of these.

Suu-mon In reply to Aariiadne [2008-06-08 17:43:12 +0000 UTC]

YES, PLEASE. But where? BUT YES.

Do you buy the sculpey in.. like the color you want to use? Or do you paint it on? Or what what? 8D And do you just glaze and set it out to dry?

Why.. Sculpey III? Why not.. Sculpey X-TREME?!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aariiadne In reply to Suu-mon [2008-06-08 18:14:17 +0000 UTC]

I saw Sculpey III there, so I got it. xDDD

I got four colors for these, white, brown, red, and pink. I used the Studio glaze for sculpey, it was in the same aisle as the sculpey.

You make the charm first, then you bake it according to the intructions on the clay wrapping. You glaze after it cools and then you just let it dry.

You can come over to my house sometime next week (just not Monday).
