sexy robots pls HOOO HOOOOOOO... I've been working on this for so long ughhh. I'm so sorry about the crappy quality of the image, I'll try to post a nicer pic of him later. But yer, here is my robutt. THE FIRST ROBOT IN D2D YEAAAAA. I have been in conversation with the lovely Mrs-Salt and they so kindly approved my idea of having a full robot in the group. Weeew. And so naturally I made him a massive arsehole!!

Age: 43 (An oldish model for his type - acts his age)
Gender: Built & Configured with Male programming. He couldn’t rly care less tho, gender is Below Him.

Scientist - Nox was built specifically towards a scientific orientation. He is a scientist at the core of his circuits and knows his way in and out of all sciences including but not limited to biology, chemistry, neurology, robotics, etc. His main function was to create better filtration devices and to systematically calculate filtration rates of Dust. When it comes to science he is somewhat of a jack of all trades, and can create cures, medicines and other items of use if requested.

Surgeon - As a secondary function, Nox is programmed with knowledge of physiology and biology and can operate with extreme precision and steadiness - meaning he is excellent for surgeries and procedures - be it on biological flesh and bones, or mechanical robotic replacement limbs. He can repair just about anyone.

Real-World Ethnicity: A screw here and a dielectric conductor there.
Dust Dependency?: Since Nox is a robot, a machine, he literally runs on Dust, meaning he needs it to operate and function.
Romantic/Sexual Orientation: What is Love?? Too much Science. (srsly tho he’s probably pan, he doesn’t really see gender the same as humans, it’s just one socket different from another.)
D%: Phoenix - 22%

Personality: First and foremost, anyone will immediately notice that Nox’s sarcasm levels in his personality chip are turned up way too high. Not only this, but he is stoic, grumpy, cool and cantankerous at the best of times. Due to his memory banks and his past, he has found that this is the best way to deal with people. Yes, those annoying humans who constantly shed their skin and excrete gasses from both ends. They are certainly quite bothersome.

Nobody knows for sure whether Nox can “feel” as it were, because of his constantly prickly exterior, but who knows? Nobody has ever gotten close enough to actually produce real evidence to whether or not this hunk of metal has a tin heart to go along with those buns of steel of his.

As said previously, Nox is excellent at “repairing” people. But when it comes to “healing” people, he is not the best. Nox has a terrible bedside manner, and can come off as being incredibly insensitive and crass at times when he is talking to a patient or… Well, anyone, really. He does not care about your feelings. And he does not care if you want to keep your gangrenous leg or not - It’s coming off, and you’ll have to cope with it. But don’t worry, it was ugly, anyway.

Dirt & Grit - Being made of metal, with lots of little crevices and slits, Nox has to constantly clean out his grooves of the dirt and (normal) dust that lays around. One strong sand storm and he’s pretty much fucked, as he will be unable to move properly thanks to his joints locking up.

Dust Dependancy - Nox runs on Dust. He’s a machine, and when he begins running low, he can glitch out, or appear sluggish and depressed, gradually slowing down until he goes offline.

- Replacement Limb Kit (set of detachable hands with different tools for surgery)
- Electrified Throwing Knives
- Science kit (bunsen, test tubes, palettes, etc.)

History Dossier:
43 years ago an adorably new, custom-built ANION 9000 model robot rolled off the production line at the tech company, and after some programming in the labs, he was bought by Orion to work in their labs to increase their Dust filtration efficiency. Worked hard like the filthy robot he is, Nox’s efficiency was soon taken over by better Orion tech and he was let go in his 15th year. Bought second hand by a medical institute, Nox went to work in the operation theatre, assisting human surgeons and mentoring young medical students and young surgeons. After a number of complaints about his impersonal ways, Nox was again let go in his 25th year. The next five years he spent his existence in the slums and back houses, being used for things not of his original design, and was outfitted with er… Optional, parts, for these “things”.

By 30, Nox had been passed around and was of little value, and so was easily bought merely on the promise of Dust for functioning by Phoenix. Even if he was an older ‘bot by now, and even if he was used and abused and covered in scratches, Nox was still good hardware and could still do his job well - better than most humans, in some regards, and Phoenix saw value in having an asset such as Nox on their team. Beggars can’t be choosers, after all.

Now, at the age of 43, and still humming along, Nox still works for Phoenix in their laboratories, filtrating and developing new ways of Dust detection and recycling. Occasionally he will perform a surgical operation, fix someone’s malfunctioning arm or leg… But mostly he just hangs around working night and day, scaring away little children and making grown men cry.

*OPTIONAL* Relationships: Nox is one of those “known to everyone” people, but not known about. Nobody ever really gets close enough to him to know much, which unfortunately has created quite the rumour mill about his involvement with Orion, what he was doing in “Scarlet’s Strip And Burlesque House” all those years ago, etc. Someone even once accused him of being an Orion spy. They left with two broken legs, that was fun.

While he’s not openly peppy or welcoming, Nox generally “tolerates” other people and humans, and if they can stick around his sarcastic, bitter self without trying to kick his helm in, then they’re obviously a more tolerant person than most.

Other:
Colours!! As you can see, Nox has LED lights on his person on particular trimmings and parts of his unit. These are not constantly fluctuating as they are on the ref, but rather change according to his feeling and emotion at the time, and represent a different emotion with each colour. It was designed to help him be more relatable to humans, like a mood ring, but the instruction booklet with the explanations of each colour was lost long ago…. Good luck deciphering them. As Nox has matured and his circuits aged, his most common colour has changed throughout time.

Reds/Oranges: Angry, pissed off, getting annoyed.
Yellow: Curious, interested.
Green: Sick, Anxious, Envious, Hungry (craving dust).
Blue (the most common): Calm, Relaxed, At Work, Concentrating.
Purple: Comfortable, Amused, Tired.
Pink: ??? nobody has ever witnessed this, at least nobody from Orion or Phoenix. (Just between u and I, Pink is lust and love ;] )
Black/Nothing: Powered Down, Offline (dead).

The Dome Of Doom - Nox’s head/face is, as you can see, a black screen. He can display on the screen text, images, emoticons, etc. Mostly it is black or has a wavelength going along it when he speaks, but usually he turns this off as it proves better for confusing people.

Metals - Nox’s body consists of hard but smooth alloy metals, built to endure big hits and provide him with a hard armour. Some parts are more malleable and these are his weak points, such as his neck (which can turn and wrinkle under his jaws), his sides, and the points inside his joints.

Buns of Steel - Yes he has an incredible arse, and it used to be much shinier! What is under that crotch plate, you ask? I dare you to try and find out.
