The rain in this is amazing. Lobster Johnson's pose is amazing. You really beat my sketch entry in a big way with this one. If I had one comment or suggestion for you on this, it would be to totally remove all the symmetry of the tentacled beast. I think you've got this nice, really tight pose for the main character (who can represent order in this piece), and then you have the opportunity to go totally crazy with those tentacles (representing chaos). In my pieces I like the idea of balancing symetrical and asymmetrical elements (something I picked up from the Klaus Jansen - DC Guide to Drawing Comics). I also like co-mingling themes (like order and chaos). It's something I'm really trying to develop.
And you HAVE to tell me how you got that rain effect.

Yeah, sometimes I overdo the symmetry thing. Thanks for the advice, I'll have to try it. For the rain, I just put in a few "guideline" drops with a micron to get the perspective. Then when I put in the wash I added a few more in the wash color. Then when I put in the highlights, I added a few more with a crowquill and white ink. I've always wanted to draw rain so I thought I'd give it a shot.
