Thanks Q but no worries, I was actually out of town so a TBC woulda been tough. I made time for this one because I thought the character was really cool. I did it quick but had fun with it. The quickies are the ones I seem to enjoy the most, win or lose.

Wow! Strong first impression. Beautiful contour lines and spotting. Incredibly symmetrical face. Arresting use of color. (Really puts me in the Holiday spirit.) Putting it under the glass, I start to wonder what's going on with the form of the front foot? Looks 2D flat instead of 3D wedge-shaped (to me).

Not at all, moderators make comments as much as anyone else. Unless you feel you're coming off as snarky, overly defensive, or a know-it-all, I wouldn't read anything into it. Your comments to me have been precise and helpful.

My concern is that it's more tell than show, when it should be the other way around. (Maybe I'm coming off as a know-it-all? Or too involved with my own thoughts?)
I will be posting a layout to illustrate a discussion point, but the sites been down all day, so far. If I'm not getting the shepherd's crook, I'll use it to go to the next level. If I am, this will likely be the last post.

I dropped by and read your thread. No worries man. Just take what people are willing to give and learn from it. From your first sketch (which I liked) I couldn't see your whole vision, but your 2nd drawing made it clear, so maybe a little less verbal and a little more visual. It's a pretty active site but remember it's a busy time of year so don't sweat it if you don't get immediate feedback.
