You know, I'm normally not a fan of a lot of solid blacks in shading, but this is gorgeous. I love the hatching and cross hatching on Gotham too.

I often think there's a lot more to a penciler's original lines that sometimes while they intend for solid black I still break it up. If you Check out John's link, I mean his lines are awesome but like the Gauntlet would be almost all black and some other area's most of the bats. I like to mix it up. Greg's lines are so very different than what I usually work on. It's good for me to be out of my usual box.

Yeah, I saw Greg's line-art, it's wonderful. I can see what you mean about losing information.
I honestly couldn't tell that this was out of your comfort zone, the line work feels very careful and yet very gritty at the same time. Looks like you have some steady hands.

Thank you very much! Greg doesn't make it easy that's for sure... I kept thinking about changing the style but I don't do many of Greg's stuff so I tried to stay true to the page while doing what I could to enhance things.
I'd love to see this colored at some point but hey I'd love to see just about anything colored since that's not my bag.
