Hell yes. We do the festival in the middle of winter for exactly that reason.

But in reality it would have been a bad idea to use such equipment anyway... even in Australian winter... I mean how to fight natives that might fight from a mountain that horses can´t go to... not to mention bush fights... you see?

Horses are very sure footed Chris - not with someone in full armour on them, but you'd be surprised where a light horse trooper can go. A heavy horse trooper (like the knights) couldn't go much anywhere except a road. LOL.
