What's that arch on the left? Is that were a monorail or something is?

This certainly looks like a painting!

It's a traffic bridge. Brisbane is split by a river. We have several bridges that join both side. All are equally as cute.

ShadowFoxxx In reply to 2Stupid2Duck [2008-04-11 07:50:17 +0000 UTC]

Oh so there's a river in between Brisbane? I take it you don't have to be bothered about earthquakes then?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

2Stupid2Duck In reply to ShadowFoxxx [2008-04-11 12:46:14 +0000 UTC]

Earthquakes??? Heck no. Mind you, the crocs are a problem. Every so often one of them big salt water ones gets into the city during morning peak hour. That usually causes complete chaos while they drag it away.

ShadowFoxxx In reply to 2Stupid2Duck [2008-04-12 08:11:36 +0000 UTC]

Really? You get them in the city? I don't think they're looking to go to the local store and pick up something for the morning sales... Maybe to get at the trash bins!

2Stupid2Duck In reply to ShadowFoxxx [2008-04-12 14:36:33 +0000 UTC]

Hell yeah. Kangaroos are bad too, but they mostly just disrupt traffic. Koalas on the other hand... they tend to drop on you from out of the trees. That's kinda uncomfotrtable. That's why we call them "drop bears."

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ShadowFoxxx In reply to 2Stupid2Duck [2008-04-13 08:27:22 +0000 UTC]

My brother told me that it's legal for you to hit kangaroos with your car, as in, you won't get in trouble. He also that you can eat them. I wouldn't want to eat one...I wouldn't want to run one over! I wouldn't do that to any animal!
Koalas drop from the trees?! Well, I guess its because they're nocturnal and they lose their grip and they fall.

Have to remember to bring my hardhat once I get there.

2Stupid2Duck In reply to ShadowFoxxx [2008-04-13 11:01:20 +0000 UTC]

LMAO. Darl... I am completely lying to you. Crocs are only up north and very rarely enter a built up area (although you wouldn't swim in the rivers). Koalas don't drop outa trees at all.

However, I have eaten kanagaroo a few times. It's a strongish flavoured meat - a bit like venison maybe. They are a bit of pest here, especially out west away from the coast. They are quite a danger on the roads at dusk - and if you hit one, your car will not be able to drive away (unless you have those big bull bar things).

Oh, I've also eaten croc. It's very nice! Like a cross between chicken and fish.

Ozzies love Americans because we can spin you such incredible lies. LOL.

ShadowFoxxx In reply to 2Stupid2Duck [2008-04-15 03:23:34 +0000 UTC]

Well it wasn't surprising to me because the American alligators in Florida go into the cities and go into the gutters or the local ponds. Sometimes you get the wild Burmese Pythons that get your cats!

Yeah, Gabe told me that. So is the meat tough or dark or anything like that? And what would you eat, the legs, or mainly the tail? I bet if you hit those large Red Kangaroos your car would be totaled!

Have you eaten iguana? They're called 'Chicken of the Trees' down south.

Yes we are gullible! But hey, we could tell you some extravagant things as well, but the sad thing is...more amazingly...it's true. Tell me, have you seen a wild Bilby before? They're endangered, some species. And how about those scary Cassowary birds! I don't think you'd be here if you were face-to-face with one!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

2Stupid2Duck In reply to ShadowFoxxx [2008-04-16 09:45:55 +0000 UTC]

Kangaroo meat is quite dark and kinda gamey. They used to sell the tails in place of Ox Tail for making soup. I dunno what it is now.. just looks like steak but a bit darker I think.
LMAO... we don't have Iguanas here.

I've seen Cassowaries at a zoo. They are kinda cute but they are pretty damn aggressive around nesting time. MMMmm.. I wonder could you eat them?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ShadowFoxxx In reply to 2Stupid2Duck [2008-04-16 09:58:31 +0000 UTC]

Well, just do me a favour: don't tell me what I'm eating, please! You know what they say, "Never look into the kitchen of your favourite restaurant! "

No iguanas? There's a surprise! But you do have some of those monitors I'm sure.

I do like the cassowaries bony plate. I think they use that to ram trees (or each other or the potential foolish tourist!), but it's rather decorative I think! Emu's are cute too. Maybe the cassowary would taste like...duck? Goose?
