My answer is to your question:
Loooooots of practice. I never really gave up. I learned in the school how to draw some parts of the face. (especially the eye practice was really helpfully. ) And I must say, it's something in my family, that I can draw like this. And of course: Lots of time and patience.
(I was bad in the past. So practice is really the key.) So you could say: I opened up and now I use my ability.
