CommentsThis, originally, was supposed to be my half of an art trade with *GhostlyStudios , of her terrified-of-water character Maple. So then I was like.. Derp. I'mma call this 'Facing Fears'. But then I was all.. Nah. This is my personal piece. :3

Alright for a Crit. I like the splashes but one thing I would say needs to be fixed is the positioning of it. All people just put too much splashes and places where they really wouldnt occur. I am assuming the horses back hooves are on the ground more than the front, so I would put *noticeably* more splashes in the back. this splash is more like something got dropped from the sky and plunked into the water.
Also, something else that noticeably stands out to me is your lack of detail on the horse, It seems as if you put the opacity down too much on the detailing layers or smudged too much. I find that smudging takes out a major amount of detail to the horse, which is why I choose not to smudge. Smudging is O.K if you make up for the lost detail. And sense I am terrible at detailing, so I need all the natural detail as I can. When I detail I either choose a smallish fuzzy brush and put the opacity down to like, 20-30 and do my details that way. OR, I keep the opacity on full throttle with a 1 hard brush and smudge the detailing after. Whichever works for you.
Otherwise the lightsource looks good, and the lighting is in the correct place. The mane and tail are good as well. I love the eye and that you can actually see the colour in them.. HAHA!!! lol. Overall great.
