Description
Based on a very dark Chazrael AU. Chal was in the horrible captivity of 's Phantasm, and while the physical scars were horrifying they had nothing on the mental ones. Still, Chal is a fighter and survivor and has people who stay by her side during the darkest moments.

Poor sweet babies. Chal is beautiful as always, and in a way she looks elegant with the facial scars.
This drawing really speaks to me. As someone who had has trauma in the past, sometimes the words "I'm okay" are what you need to say to get through the day.

This is absolutely beautiful. Like Kylie said, Azrael looks like he's trying to stay strong for Chalice but he's struggling to cope. Also, they both look great in muted colors and it really sets the mood.Β
Also, this scenario could be their way of, unknowingly, giving the finger to Phantasm. Despite Elliot's desire to hurt them and leave scars behind, eventually Chalice and Azrael do move on with their lives and Elliot becomes nothing more than a horrible memory that they leave behind, much to Elliot's horror.Β

I really enjoy the bittersweetness of this scene, especially with how Azrael is trying to comfort Chalice and stay strong for her, yet you can clearly see that he's struggling to cope with what has happened to his 'kitten'. And I like how Chal seems to be coming to terms with this, in a way. And on a happier note, Chal actually looks pretty good in brown! I never would've thought to dress her in that color, but she doesn't look bad!
