This is a very, very, basic tutorial for people who open Corel Draw for the first time and want to start 'drawing' immediately. This is no guarantee that you will be sucessful but it should be helpful- I tried to include things that I would have appreciated knowing when I first got this program.I apologize for the size and realize the graphics are rather large but I wanted this to be a 'big baby steps' type tutorial that wouldn't let a newbie get lost too easily or for to long. I had absolutely NO HELP learning this program so keep in mind this way of vectoring is self taught- not school taught. If you like it let me know- if you don't I don't want to hear it- unless your comment is particular to making tutorials-
I realize this one is way to large but it's pretty inclusive.

Thank you so much for the tutorial. I just bought and installed Corel Draw X3 and have never worked with it. I have done most of my work in Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro. Is there some other tutorials I can find for beginners?? I will start with yours first as it is easy to understand! Again, thanks for the tut!

corel is so confusing to me, thank you for the tutorial! how do u make layers while doing this?

You can put everything on a 'Layer' by clicking on an icon at the base of the Object Manager ( I think this is true of Version 10 as well as the latest release ).
Since in Corel Draw every thing you draw or import is an independent object you don't really need layers unless it's a really complex piece of work- hope that helps!

Lovely art work, Do you work on Corel Draw? I wanted my signature in CDR format wonder if you can help

not quite sure what you mean...you can type, write with a brush, or hand vector a signature and save it as a cdr. file

I would be really thankful if you can just draw this as straight lines [link] signature in Corel and save me a CDR file. I need to get this printed and the printer insists it's on CDR format as the Machine does not understand other formats for plotting images/signs.

If you used the program at all you should already know how to do this- draw dots around each of the 3 shapes that make 'ali', smooth out the angular lines, fill with black and save as cdr. file.
The tutorial here more than covers that.

haven't really familiarized myself with corel apllications yet, just with
Adobe(Photoshop and Illustrator)...
Regarding vectors, I only know very little, and hopefully your tutorial can help me in a way...

Thanks! I think Corel Draw is easier to learn than Illy - more practical in many ways even tho Illy probably can do more sophisticated things on the high end...I'm pretty sure learning about vectors will definitely be easier!
