A quick little that turned into an epic piece of awesome.
For those of you who don't know, this is 6, one of the nine characters from Shane Acker's animated film "9" (a very VERY good film I highly recommend you see as soon as possible if you haven't already).
6 is the somewhat outcast of the little group, artistic and shy and prone to visions that few of the others believe in.
He's my favorite character.

PS. I'm eventually going to color this (and add ink splatter), and I'm also planning on making a Halloween costume based off this little guy. Wish me luck!

Lol sorry. I remember seeing this in your gallery a loooooong long time ago, but didn't take much interest cause I had no idea who or what he was. Then I actually saw the movie (about a month ago now) and thought 'that 6 guy...I've seen him before somewhere. Who was it that drew a picture of him....?". It's been on my mind FOR AGES, but I could never find who did it. And I just so happened to rummage through your gallery now, and lookie what I find! XD
But anyway, Nicely drawn! 6 is among my favs (along with2, 3, 4, and 5...mainly 5 though), he's so cute >w<

Hahahaahaaa, I will eventually color this, it's just taking me longer than I thought it would.
I did color him with markers, but it came out really poorly, so my next attempt will be with digital media.

I was one of those weirdos that caught the first edge of the hype when dA originally started up the contest for the machine creatures. Did the whole following of the web site and EVERYTHING, it was stupid how into it I got.
Made some pretty cool art while I was at it though. ^^

It was actually not a horrible contest, and while I still think that the judging was kind of rigged (seniority ruled the board), it was still fun to participate in.

I found 9 to be disappointing. Not because it was terrible, but because it could have been so much more. Also, I thought the ending was going to be totally different. They led you in one direction and then finished with some cliche. Even fifteen more minutes would have made it a better movie.
But anyway, I still liked 6, and the twins.

Yeah, you can tell Shane Acker hasn't really done much directing. His original short that spawned 9 was around 11 minutes long, though it ended the same, with the graves and everything. The Talisman in that, though, had two portions. Dunno what happened to that concept.
Still, besides the plot failure, I think the movie was pretty good. The characters were well personified, even the little bit parts, everything was EXTREMELY well animated, the designs were unique and engaging, the action sequences were mind shattering, and the acting was pretty bad ass.
Plus, you've also got to take into consideration that Shane had Tim Burton and that other guy (WHY do I keep forgetting his NAME?!) to help him out when he got stuck, so the film doesn't suck as much as it could have.

Yeah, the scenery was absolutely stunning. And, I loved the scene where that monster was attacking them to "Somewhere Over The Rainbow".

Yeah, it made the whole scene just so surreal, like it was being dreamed and not actually seen.
And the Twins riding the phonograph handle, LOL!!
