Even the mouth is in the same identical place. I find it hard to understand, you are one of victims here and you close your eyes. It's not the benefit of the doubt in this case. The images fit.

She's a great friend of mine, and a great artist, and what happened was a lack of respect toward her.
Also you payed to obtain something that was stolen, so you are a victim of this sistuation too, so please answer to her and make up, even if I'm not so good as an artist I'm offering to do a drawing for you as a gift if you will resolve the problem.

I can understand your concerns, but I have talked to the artist, and he said that the close resemblance to the art was not intended, and has also offered to make a different piece, also of the same character and in chibi style, but with a different pose, to avoid such confusion. I have taken him up on the offer, and am for now giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Well, I'm sorry but...if he has erased the drawing this is a sign that his conscience isn't so quiet.....
I have seen the drawings and they were extremely similar, same expression, same pose, the same tail, and they were totally similar when I overlapped the layer just to see, let me show you.

Yeah... though he may have also just done it for it to not look like he has a traced drawing in his gallery. A similar (if somewhat different) thing actually happened to a friend of mine, though there it was a design for a character of hers that was very similar to another person's OC, who then asked her to remove the drawing she had made of her OC, and informed her of the accidental similarity.

No, just no.
Sorry but there isn't the possibility of a misunderstanding here, he traced the work, we must be clear this time.
An accidental similarity is that of two person drawing the same character at the same time with (maybe) the same pose ( thus this is just something far off the probability field), but with they're own style. This is a thing that I, and many other person can understand, but this isn't the case because the drawing are not similar, they're practically the same.
However I've done all was in my possibility to show you what happened this time, I really hope he will do other drawing with his style, because he clearly know how to draw, so this thing is really inexcusable in my humble opinion.
Sorry if I looked too blunt, is not My intention to bother you, but I can't accept that a person steal the work of a friend and claim was made by him when is not true.

I'm very sorry this happened, since this is a lack of respect not only towards the original artist but also towards the customer who pays money for an original pièce.
Also, if you want, one of my artist friend even offered to make you a drawing, since what happened is pretty unfair.
