Heads up, there's going to be a folder with a lot of different color options because I didn't nessicarily really like the original. Hope that's fine!

Hey, thank you for the watch and the favs! And you were nearly there, you wrote "thank you for (that you) llama"! "Tack fΓΆr llaman" would be correct, as in "Thank (you) for (the) llama."
Swedish is weird.

No you! Β Β Birds are so fascinating - your gallery is really cool. Lots of design and lots of fantasy, not to mention the sketch dumps. Also the Swedish blackbird is great, haha.

Maybe not! Aa, you're welcome. I followed you for your outfit/item adopts I think, but it's really nice to see all your concepts and sense of style - you seem to have a lot of things going on. It's fun to follow even if I don't always understand the setting.

Your designs and your art in general is adorable! You have clean color palettes and what I think is good taste - so I definitely look forward to seeing more of your art in the future.

Thanks! Colour was something I was terrible at until about 4 years ago (man I'm old...) and I went on a mission to learn how to use it in my work and now it's my favourite thing. The right colour makes or breaks a design imo.

Shh, you're not old until you stop dreaming! I think you're right though, and I'm going to try bettering my own palettes. It's so fun, but so easy to mess up.

I think I just shock myself when I put into numbers how many years it's been since stuff happened XD I'm not that old...
How I learned to use colour was a) I did a lot of sketches directly in colour using palettes from places like Colourlovers.com and only using those 5 colours. b) Drawing from life/photos and instead of thinking about "how realistic can I make it" with the colours, I would think about "how few colours can I use to mesh together and have cool colour combos. c) using coloursets from artists I liked literally by using the eyedropper tool on their work, again usually just for sketches or exploratory works but I would then learn how exactly they paired together colours and how it could apply to my own work.
I still use other artists to learn from like say I see an artist who did a cool drawing in yellow and blue I might go "omg I wonder how I can work in yellow and blue to do something cool for my own work" but I don't lift it directly from their work anymore cos I know more about how I personally work with colour and how I like it.
Basically do a lot of "unfinished" work. When you're learning it's about what you learned not what you made. Sketch a lot, colour a lot, worry less about finished products and just have fun.

That's really good advice - something I'm also struggling with. Sketching and learning and taking the time to -not- finish things but to get better. Thanks for the reminder and the insights! I'll probably try out some of those things.

I go through periods of finishing everything and then doing a lot of sketchwork while I learn things. tbh the main thing is you're enjoying it. I sketch a lot. Finishing work for the sake of finishing it even if you have no reason to do so is a waste of time. Drove my tutors mad at uni cos if I decided a piece wasn't working I'd just abandon it and do another one. XD
