I have no idea what it is, but I suppose not if it doesn't end up somehow negatively effecting my stuff.

An .epub is one of many formats used by eReaders like Kindle, Nook and even iPhone / iPad. It's very convenient. And it preserves text and formatting just like you want it to be. I can send you the finished file once you finish the story so you can add it to the deviation page (if you'd like that of course). I think there are many ponies who read fiction using eReaders (like me!).
