Actually the vectors I've been doing recently are from:

Pausing an episode on a frame I like.

Pressing the "PrtSc" key located by the F12 key

Opening Adobe Illustrator Cs5 and pasting the screenshot onto the canvas.

Then I do the vectoring.

One of my vectors (my very first vector) was a recolor of Roseluck. It was for practice with new software.

so to correct you on your comment, You should have said something like...

So I heard you DID a RECOLOR.

what do you do when you try to vector a Pony, just sort of freehand the pen tool?

Because I've seen a few time lapsed videos of people doing the EXACT same thing I do with my vectors.
