Yeah I THINK minecraft pocket edition is for iphone/ipod touch too. But getting full minecraft is better cus you get more stuff and survival mode.
Minecraft PE (pocket edition) doesnt have EVERYTHING computer minecraft has.
I can tell you what minecraft PE only has:
Colored wool
ladders
cobblestone
wood
sandstone
sand
wood planks
brick walls
obsidian (same stuff used to make nether portals - You cant make portals on minecraft PE only on computer)
dirt
wood plank stairs
cobblestone stairs
stone slab
leaves
glass
torches
stone
gold (whole block of gold not just an ore)
iron (same thing not the ore)
diamond (AGAIN not the ore just a single block)
yellow flowers
blue flowers
mushrooms
moar mushrooms
bamboo
Minecraft pocket edition is also just creative mode: BUT YOU CANT FLY.
AND THATS ALL MINECRAFT POCKET EDITION HAS. (For ipad at least)

NOW minecraft pocket edition is more like minecraft. Theres doors now, survival mode, (theres only zombies that come out at night, but still) and all that. Except you cant craft stuff
