It's all good. Just caught up in life, same as ya. So I'm also hanging in there ha.
I'm in Cali now going back to school so that's something.
Are you still doing art? I've been doodling here and here. As usual ha.

That's a weird error ha.
I like it out here. The weather is pretty decent. Don't have to deal with driving in the snow. Been out here for 3 years. So essentially I'm a junior now in Uni studying to be a hydrologist of all things ha. I have been taking art classes here and there for fun and every time I do take the classes everyone is telling me to switch majors, yikes. I'll attach a painting I did during the semester (still hate painting btw.) (added a sketch I did a few weeks back)
Ooo Busy busy, as long as you keep moving, right? How long have you been in Wisconsin for?

Y'know about artwork, you're truly never satisfied. The thing is I can pump pieces out like crazy but I don't think there's ever a moment where I'm satisfied. Trying to always produce something but there's something formulaic about. The angle, poses or whatever. Maybe I'm just too hard on myself ha. Yeah I try to keep busy so I don't fall back to my slumps. It's a grind but it's something worthwhile I feel ( and hope.) College is weird. Especially with everyone being so young and myself being older (and being mistaken for like a 22-24 year old LUL.) But it's good so far. I'm putting in the amount of work for the grade I feel like I deserve, which is some is great other is meh.
Wauw in Wisconsin for that long? I think that's when I actually left Wisconsin myself. Maybe a year before. But I use to live in Green Bay for 2 years before I moved back to IL. Where do you plan to see yourself really settling down? For me, I'm more entice on moving out of the country. I have a friend who wants me to be their neighbor in Canada but I also have a strong gravitation towards New Zealand (weird I know.) But we'll see. Life isn't definitive, it's what you make it.
P.S. You don't use any other medium do you? Discord? Skype? Phone? Feels kinda antiquated using DA HA.

Hmm, I'm messing around w/ photoshop cs5 atm. These new features are really nice. I'm messing around w/ the puppet wrap tool. Let's say if I drew something and I thought the arm was a little off. I can use it and change the way the arm is by making it lower or bending it more at the elbow. O_o I didn't know this. Must... do more stuff w/ this!

ha, my photoshop skills is pretty mediocre. >_< but these new features on photoshop are really nice. like the masking tool [selecting] has become more accurate. like you can delete a person in the background if you want. cutting edge stuff! Didn't you say you have a trial version? :0

wolfystroke In reply to TheUnbelievable [2011-01-21 02:22:03 +0000 UTC]
your skills beat mine. only thing i ever do is fuck around with the burn and smudge tools. yeah i downloaded the trial but it has boundaries. one of which happens to be with the tshirt template

=_=" And yet, my still is still lacking in photoshop. I'm surprised adobe offered a trial version >.>

wolfystroke In reply to TheUnbelievable [2011-01-21 20:33:12 +0000 UTC]
im not. the software being 700. the trial not only gets new users hooked but also gives insight to those still iffy on buying the newest version. you still got more knowledge than i do on it. not too many people want traditional artists anymore

TheUnbelievable In reply to wolfystroke [2011-01-22 15:20:31 +0000 UTC]
Last I checked it was 900 D: close to 1k for the product and 300 if you wanted to upgrade from a previous version. >.<
*cough* I got mine some other way *cough* >.>
Meh, there's always going to be things done traditionally, that some would favour over 'modern' mediums.
Which reminds me... I've always wanted to do a metal cast/sculpture of something popping out, but it's just a thought. That's why one day in Derango's I asked if we could do any metalcasting, to which he said, we can do whatever we want, LIES!

wolfystroke In reply to TheUnbelievable [2011-01-23 10:12:42 +0000 UTC]
yeah, figured you acquired yours through less than expensive means. its going for 700 now, still too much for a traditional guy like myself. im using the hell out of the trial though. photo touch ups and what not. ive done a little welding. wouldnt you need a foundry to do something like that though? i mean derango is known for his lies but that one seems out of his hands.

yeah, I'm a bit frugal on things these days. So if I can get it by any other way than ... the conventional way... I'd do, except for games. I'm trying to support my fellow game studios. But if I did had the money for adobe, I'd buy their product too. Feels a bit bad that I've taken it any other way than buying from them.
Welding huh? Looks like fun. >.< He said it on our like first month or so of senior portfolio... I kinda miss that cardboard head of mine : \ which I bet is still sitting up there, on the cabinet, collecting dust. ... Maybe it's possible to still get it! :0

wolfystroke In reply to TheUnbelievable [2011-01-23 10:35:37 +0000 UTC]
yeah i support those i can. but adobe is pushing it with that price. you figure a ps3 and a good lot of games is more entertaining than that. just ridiculous for us poor up and coming artists heh. yeah i miss a piece i did back in college, shouldve kept it. im sure he still has it though. pack rat derango

But, the program is good. w/ all the weird bundles and junk that comes w/ it.
Are you saying you have a ps3? >.>
What was this piece you did? I wanna know
Should probably get that piece soon, he's aging too fast!

wolfystroke In reply to TheUnbelievable [2011-01-23 11:02:39 +0000 UTC]
yeah it is, i give it that. i still have the modded junk xbox stashed under my bed and a gameboy pocket. so no ps3 for me.
i did a piece for 2-d class. it was a still shot from the big lebowski. i pieced it together with fragments of cigarette packs. thing was genius. never really finished it though.

So I have photoshop cs5 extended... But it didn't come w/ illustrator, which is great for line art... Photoshop isn't, grrr.
a gameboy pocket eh? That's old! and if I remember right you did say that xbox of yours is collecting dust, right? =_=" If you do get a 'next gen' console, I recommend getting Red Dead Redemption.
wait wait... creating a 2-d image w.... 3-d items? D:

everything should be easier with a tablet. all the basic functions of a computer and a pad of paper

It is. >_< when you compare it against the mouse. w/ all the shaky lines and everything. But when I usually draw w/ the tablet. Y'know when you sometimes press down on the pencil when you draw, I tend to do that a lot it seems. Very frustrating.

π: 0 β©: 1
wolfystroke In reply to TheUnbelievable [2011-01-25 08:02:05 +0000 UTC]
nope. i just use this junk i got. for me the expense in the materials rarely relays the quality in the work. sometimes even the cheapest crap can give unmeasurable outcomes
π: 0 β©: 1
TheUnbelievable In reply to wolfystroke [2011-01-25 09:07:40 +0000 UTC]
Depends on how you can manipulate the material onto a canvas, some are a bit harder than others. But really, I'm just wondering what and why are copics priced the way it is.
π: 0 β©: 1
wolfystroke In reply to TheUnbelievable [2011-01-25 09:51:01 +0000 UTC]
yeah. if they are high priced then its probably because they are just that good and in high demand. never looked into them though. prisma colors i own, and compared to crayola or roseart, you bet they are worth the extra

Hmm, I'd like to get my hands on some art supplies. Feel like doing some painting, then again... I am horrible w/ the paint brush.
Prisma Colours eh? I might look into that.

if paintings in your blood at the moment then get on it. mastering it will come in time. yeah i recommend prisma. same stuff from derangos room. not the most expensive im sure but worth it for the blending its capable of doing
