Aww thank you it always feels good to be appreciated every now and then! I know that I don't have any art up right now. I usually do photo manipulations - digital art, if you will. Occasionally I'll include some of my own photos and writing. I cleared out my art a few months ago because I had a lot going on in my life and couldn't juggle things too well. I figured if I can't be here to comment on peoples art, it isn't fair to have stuff up, etc. so forth. At the time it made sense. Now my comment is getting entirely too long but I think you get my point! And...thats that!

I remembered talking to you on the day I received my DD and it took me all the days after that to work through my stack of messages to find you again. I was looking for your icon as I clicked on everyone because I think it's really mesmerizing. I knew I'd recognize it when I saw it... and I did! I actually have a couple of friends who cleared out their galleries here on dA, for various reasons. It happens...

Aww how sweet. I'm glad you like my icon One of my friends on deviantArt made it for me actually, she took a photo of my eye and played around with it. So...that's my eye! For what that's worth! Hehe...I just like the colors of it to be honest. She did a great job making it!

Insofar as galleries in dA...I think its tough to manage them to be honest. Some days you get sooooo many comments that it's like you want to respond to them all but you can't. And then the more people you watch the more deviations show up in your inbox, and that can be a pain to keep up with too. Maybe that's what became so overwhelming. I don't know really. How do you keep up with everything? As amazing as your art is I'm sure you've got tons and tons of comments to go through. Is there a method to your madness in responding to things?

As far as keeping up with everything on dA, some days I'll have 20 messages and others I'll get over 100. I used to just sit at my computer until I'd responded to everything, but I realized that I was spending hours and hours at my computer and hardly any time at all actually working on my crafts. When you take into consideration that I also work full time, take a dance class every Monday night and "have a life outside of dA," sitting here for hours just wasn't working. What I do now is just set aside a certain amount of time that I will spend on dA, be it answering comments, looking at deviations or just cruising around the site. Once my alloted time is up (and I actually change the amount of time depending on what else I want to get accomplished away from my computer that day) I shut down my computer and walk away. I really had to keep myself to that when I got the DD because by the time my 24-hours of fame were over, I had 1020 messages to look at. That's why it took me several days to thank you for your s. I made sure to look at my deviation pages first, so my friends would know that I wasn't ignoring them, then I answered all of the comments. I sent out the "thank you's" last because although s and s were the bulk of my messages, but they were the easiest to respond to. In all, it took me five days to "recover" from the DD. It was actually a good thing that I'd had one before, so I had an idea of what to expect, though I got hit with about six times the traffic this time, which really took me by surprise. I think today was the first day in a week that I was actually able to check out the News page and take a short jaunt around the site. I've missed a week of art! I have a lot of catching up to do, now!

My goodness. You must have like more than 24 hours in an average day! I'm impressed really. If I see more than 100 new deviations, sadly I'll clear out almost all of them. I need to sort through the list of people who I'm watching. I've noticed several people haven't been on in months, so obviously they don't have any new art. I generally like to go through my list and look at everyone's gallery and see whats new. Its easier then having to look at every single new piece you know? Today I was lucky and only had 33 deviations, 5 messages and one note. Pretty common for me - especially since I haven't made any new art.

One thing I like to do when "cruising around dA" as you put it, is that I'll look at a friends gallery and then look through their favs. I'll pick out a piece I really like and then explore that persons gallery, and so on and so forth. I think its fun do to it that way. I strongly recommend it! I've discovered a ton of really cool and talented artists that way!

I do the same thing with my watch list, in fact I cleared off a couple of people tonight because they only kept a couple of things in their gallery and they hadn't even been on dA yet this year! Ooo, I've checked out other people's faves, too! Yes, I've found some great art that way! Thanks so much... it's been fun "talking" to you!

Six months...yes it seems far, but there are some people who will plan a wedding a year or more in advance. Now that's an even scarier thought! Take my sister for instance....she got engaged in January this year, has her wedding planned for July of next year (2008) and she not only has her location picked out, but also has her gown, her colors, etc. etc. She's planned more on her wedding in three months than I have in three years! Isn't that scary? I've been engaged for three years, in case you're wondering. We "formally" set a wedding date in November of 06...haven't really done much planning, but it's moving along. It's just crazy seeing how things go for different people, you know? Anyway, thanks for commenting yet again!

I'm fine! Thanks for asking! I'm sorry I've more or less disappeared! I need to update my journal and explain what's up! As you may or may not know, I'm getting married in September. I've been really really busy making plans for the wedding and haven't had much time to get on and write messages/look at art or even make any new art! I miss you too, to be honest!
