Hey Wilson, I read through the conceptart.org thread about your year at FZD, congratulations, though its long outdated.

I've been thinking about going to FZD in a couple years when I can afford it (if I can lol). I wondered if you could give me some quick feedback on my current level of skill but I suppose you dont have time or patience for such things. I guess asking doesnt hurt right? :) (Smile)

Regardless, thanks for you insightful posts in said conceptart-thread, I hope you found an in house job!

oh man, I'm so sorry I haven't read this comment. I stopped dropping by DA for like more than a year. based on your gallery your doing fine :) (Smile) persistence is the key here, even after FZD I painted my ass off and the results are just showing after 2 years or so, still a long way to go. All I can tell you is never forget the fundamentals because if you do it will slow down your progress. A lot of stuff on the internet to teach anyone how to to do concept art and painting these days that weren't around years ago. Good luck on your endeavors :) (Smile)

Hindi na kami nakakapunta ng blitz lately, and I've heard na wala na atang saturday meetings. But we sometimes do drawing sessions nalang sa bahay namin during weekends.

I still keep wondering how my pieces doesn't look right whenever I submit them??? maybe I should just think of better composition before turning the PAINTER turntables. Right now I just loosely sketch everything and finish it in a flash.

I think I found a process that I'm comfortable to work and build a style from. In the end I ended up with Arnold Tsang's tutorials that I first disregarded as too hard... tried it on a "Practice" piece first the more serious ones come afterwards. I might post the "DISASTROUS BIG PIECE" later where I wasted about 6 hours accomplishing nothing but an UGLY piece.

I just can't freakin' believe that all the awesome artworks I happen to came across is using Photoshop even at the most a version 5.5...
Well, I still have to practice using painter... but if I found out that UDON is also using photoshop I'm gone to the dogs.

Which Tutorial? I tried duplicating ~ukitakumuki style in Photoshop 7, hell he was using only airbrush tool and it takes him less than 3 hours to finish one piece. It was fine but I can't seem to find the tool in PS to mix the colors like a blender. at 512 MB of RAM it still slows down when I use SMUDGE
