Good luck at the World Youth Championships. I competed in a couple of Escalades and Nationals back in the 90s and used to climb 3 weekends a month. Now I get to the gym once or twice a year.

i wish i had some! would be awesome but i havnt been getting outdoors, cant afford the gear yet. i mean $200+ for a rope! plus draws...

lol... when I started climbing in 1982 rope cost $300. By 1997 my wife and I worked out that between us, including big wall and ice climbing gear, we had over $10k worth of equipment. Sports climbers have it easy. Shoes, harness, a dozen quickdraws and a rope.
Years ago I used to shoot for a few climbing mags, like Climb, Climbing Magazine, Rock and Ice. I should get back into it if the body will take it. I doubt I could drag myself up anything harder than a 24 these days, though.

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time.
