Oh goodness, really? I'm so happy my silly comments can make you happy like that! I always think I'm talking too much, but I just want to express my love in more than a simple "beautiful" or "cute". Art can rarely be summed up so easily, especially not yours    (<---- thanks for indirect letting me know I could use emojis like these, they're adorable!)

Even if it is short and seems to have no message behind it, I am very grateful for it, because I think it is something really special these days to get feedback at all. Having people around you who care enough about your works, that they would even take the time to comment, is not normal these days. So, I'm always happy to see your name in the comments~

It warms my heart that I can make you happy! And don't worry, as little time as I'll have this term (university can definitely be a bum sometimes), I'll always support you, thoughts as well as art. And I do agree that commenting seems more scattered nowadays, it saddens me to no end! I saw a reddit thread suggesting that perhaps simple comment templates for fics and fanart, and as much as I appreciate the initiative, I really don't want it to be necessary to encourage people to comment on the things they love

I do care, and a lot! Your style is unique and refreshing, and every update brightens my day. Keep on being amazing and creative

I have an inside joke with my friends how we say that no one should ship revolutionshipping since it only ends in tears canonwise. But in the end, that goes for pretty much every ship that has Atem in it and is based in canon

I have that headcanon where Atem returns.

After all, Kaiba has been able to travel through dimensions. Kaiba is capable of everything, so considering Takahashi's artwork - where Kaiba and Yuugi play >Spherium< - we can assume that he has found a way to travel between dimensions. This would be great, don't you agree? This way, Kaiba can continue to pester Atem forever with wanting to duel him!

The fanart Text Messages pretty much shows how I see Kaiba's and Atem's relationship in the future. Kaiba constantly trying to duel "Yuugi" and find a way to beat him. xD

Atem never had the chance to live his own life and now that he knows that Ancient Egypt will fall in the future, it could be that he feels torn between the present and past, wishing to get back only to live his own life. As a Pharaoh he probably can't do anything without having other people around. Everything he does is preordained, so he is not even allowed to say his own opinion, because he needs to fulfill the role as a Pharaoh.

Even it is just a head-canon, a fan theory, I do see Atem coming back in the future.

Oh, I can totally buy that! Kaiba has enough determination to make everything happen, so I have a hard time believing he wouldn't come up with a sustainable method of visiting Atem in his dimension, as well as to bring Atem to theirs (and that pic IS the perfect example of how it would look like )

I like what you're saying. It actually connects really good with Atem's identity dysphoria as well! How the insight of learning you're a person on your own instead of just another side of someone, without any memories connecting you to your own identity. It never got stated in the manga if Atem actually recovered all his memories, and I kinda believe that he didn't. At least not in the sense of getting his whole life in Egypt back, but more like little snippets here and there, blurried edges and no real focus. Not like the memories he share with Yuugi and the one he made for himself in modern time. So I do think that in many ways, he wants to return, and if he can, not only physically but mentally as well, he will.

I think most of us share that headcanon to be honest

It reminds me of Final Fantasy XV, where you need to sacrifice something in order to get strength in return. Atem got incredible powers, being able to seal his own soul in the puzzle and use the dark magic as his own, so it makes sense for him to give something up. His body was destroyed/heavily injured by Zorc. He was killed and we saw the true ending of his memories, where Bakura/Zorc killed Atem and he fell down the cliff. This must have been what happened, so since his body was damaged, there must have been something else he sacrificed, so I assume he gave up his memories in order to be able to defeat Zorc and the darkness even if it would take years for him to come back.

Thanks to Yuugi and the others he was able to find his name and they have changed the outcome of his memories (maybe even altered history or created another dimension). He even summons the God of all Gods, who can only be awakened by putting Osiris, Raa and Obelisk together, which makes me think that Atem already gained the strength to not only save but also destroy the world. A power like this needs a sacrifice, so it might be possible that he never got all his memories back.

Even if Atem did recover all of his memories, he would feel troubled, because he already knows the future of his kingdom and how the world and the people will change over time. For me, it is unthinkable that Atem will keep believing that he is the child of a God or even a God himself. All the people around him believe that he is a God and in the manga we can see how even the priests treat him kind of like a different life form. After being with Yuugi and the others for such a long time, it must be really difficult for him to accept his own life, thus I see him with very mixed feelings. The poor man~

On the other hand, we don't really know if everything in the RPG went as it did back in Egypt 3000 years ago, so Bakura might as well not have interacted with Atem in the same manner. Or perhaps it did exactly as the RPG and it was the work of Hasan, if he was in his spirit form already, that helped Atem get back his strength, at least enough to be able to in the very end sacrifice his name and seal away Zorc with him. I don't think he actually summoned Horakhty in the real-life events, and that that only happened in the RPG.
But the idea of sacrificing something important for the sake of strength enough to defeat evil is one so glorious and epic thing in fiction! I haven't played Final Fantasy so I don't know the reference (I'm not a gamer ), but that trope is a brilliant one when done right!

Indeed he would! I don't think he ever felt like a god or even a demi-god, or perhaps he only did in his real life, I'm not sure. But he would probably always feel troubled about that kind of identity that people would put on him. Oh gods, thinking about Atem in these kinds of way makes my heart ache
