if its free hand graf that your filling then its all down to practice really, try and keep the strokes of the fill going in the same direction, much like when you colour in on paper, it just looks better. Get used to the type of spray paint you use, all different makes etc will work best at different distances, find one your like and stick to it. If youve got photoshop or illustrator on your computer then there are some neat ricks for making stencils with them. When Im stencilling I usually try and stick to a certain theme for a while, ive done spider man, starsky and hutch and some characters that i designed myself before. This t makes the grqaf you do recognisable as yours. I tend to use the kind of cardboard that you get in cereal boxes to make my stencils, its easy to cut, so you can use some pretty good detail in the stencil and it doesnt curl up like acetate (clear plastic) will. Invest in a good craft knife and cutting board for cutting your stencils and always try them at home before you take them to the streets. Never paint them in places that ruins the surroundings (eg new shiny office blocks, or anywhere that doesnt look like a graf place). Skate parks, youth centres are usually a good place, 1 because it doesnt ruin the surroundings and 2 because they will probably appreciate it if its good and wont take it down. Finally never spray over someone elses work! Hope that helps, let me know if theres anything more specific I can help with.

ok, thanks dude. i normally use the ceral box stuff too. the only problem so far is drawing my own stencils, i normally just coppy one off the internet. but that's only so i get practise cutting stuff, and untill i get good enough to design my own. i'll have to try some of that stuff. i'm too poor to afford spray paint all the time, so i normally just do stuff by hand. but once i get a job i'll see what happens.

cool, if youve got photoshop you can use the threshold tool to make stencils out of any picture you want. If you could get hold of a copy it would help a lot, i use it all the time. Anyway, good luck with it all.
Take it easy, Tom
