Checked out the rest of your gallery and, aside from making me smile several times, your work looks interesting. I figured I wanted to be able to find you again later as well as see your new stuff.
Sooo... your welcome! Have a great day!!

Sorry if I thanked you for a watch and you weren't watching me. I think someone else had watched me and I saw your post and wasn't reading names clearly.
More awkwardness...

I don't recall ever thanking you for the watch. So I suppose I'll do it now. Thank you.

Haha! It's alright, nothing wrong with you replying that you liked them. ^_^
Since you'd only commented on the one, I wasn't sure if you had read all of them, now I know. Thank you so very much!

Thankyou very much for the add.
And for the help with the poetry-dot-ripoffs.
They are spamming by note noiw, so the more people who know what they really are, the better.

*Grins* Just wait until I'm awake enough to read your poetry. ^__^ (I could do it now, but you won't get more then a "Nice Poem" out of me with these glazed 2am eyes.)
As for poetry.com... it's one thing for them to do what they do, it's another when they drop all this crap around my community to try and reel people in.
'reciate you adding me back!

OMG! you're a GENIUS! Why don't you join the poetry contest from [link] ? Free to enter, 100k prize. You MUST win it!

thelastmite In reply to laurythompson [2007-08-29 06:10:05 +0000 UTC]
Because Poetry.com is kinda scamish... Their contests are like the junk mail you get that says
"You may have already won $100 000!!" or
"You have won One Million!!"
And then inside the envelope...
"Thats what you'll probably be saying if you send in your confirmation number..."
What poetry.com does after you sign up for a contest is send you emails and snail mail about how great your poem was and how they're going to publish it in this wonderful quality limited edition book that you can buy for $X.xx
But the thing is, that book will never grace the shelves of my local library or a chapters or Barnes and Noble in my city. That 'exquisitely bound' book of poetry will only ever be sold by Poetry.com to saps who will sell their left arm to buy a book with their poetry in it that they believe will be fully published.
Years ago I signed up for Poetry.com, and things just seemed fishy. I've often meant to submit a really really poor poem just to hear them say...
"Cyrik Riand! I read your poem, 'Junked Garbage' and I was in awe! I loved it so much that I just had to include it in our next volume of fine poetry, 'Winter Sojourn'.
((Then they introduce the book, tell you how great it is, and after that tell you that you can buy this wonderful book with your poetry in it for all your frieinds and family to see, hear's the price. We take Visa, Mastercard, and Firstborn.))
That rant against Poetry.com aside, I REALLY Appreciate your comment! ^__^ Let me know if you come across any other poetry contests out there.
(And I always have to ask this question cuz I'm always curious, how did you find my page?)

In other news, it appears that ~laurythompson is a spambot that's hit about 2.5k Deviants within the last 10 hours.
Poetry.com is most definaitly a scam. Check out the following link for details.

I really hope so... I don't think it's vain of me to say that I want more then a mere stage for my writing, I want an audiance in front of that stage.
My delight in writing comes from the responce of others to my writing... Especially when a reader is able to see in the finished poem what I saw as I was writing the poem. That really gets me excited.
Or if a poem was designed to provoke a responce within a person, knowing that it managed to do that...
Ah, I could rant on writing poetry for awhile. I think I'll save it for a journal entry. In a nutshell though, thank you for believing in my work and being a fan. I'm glad I've been able to inspire you as you've helped to motivate and inspire me.
Just a few more multiples of 10 to go!

I'm amused... found a comment from 3 years ago where I was looking forward to 1000 page views. Now? I don't really care... the views are pointless to me without new work to show.
