I say nice things all the time! Most of the suggestions are small things and never really even things that "need" to be fixed.

but when the most meticulous thing you say are crits it seems like your saying they "must" be fixed. try balancing with an equally meticulous compliment. "that's great dude", the "this is rad" are kinda general BS.
I'm bein a big asshole, I apologize.

I think on every comment I said how much I liked the piece and then offered suggestions for improvement. I am totally a fan of not finishing things and just keeping them in mind for next time or else you will gt too bogged down in perfection/revisionism.

Thanks for looking me up! Philly was a good time. For coloring I only use Photoshop CS5 (I really like the new brushes!). I have tried Painter a few times but had problems even getting started, I'm sure it is worth trying again but I know Photoshop so well and it is such a versatile program for the entire process. I have begun to do a lot of my preliminary work like thumbnails, sketches and layouts in PS as well and enjoy going back and forth from digital to traditional. My new thing is getting a sketch to a decent level in PS then printing it out super light onto bristol and inking it by hand. Any other questions? I like that Cerberus piece you did! Also my new site www.thedanhale.com has newer work, need to update my DA really bad!

No problem, that's really cool. That sounds very interesting. Painter is pretty tough to work with. Sounds like it may be interesting to use photoshop for digital painting and see how that works out. In order to do comics book, because I do want to try and get the layouts down and make interesting pieces. How do you know whether to do a longer, entire scene, versus a snapshot or cropped close up piece?

Actually the co-creator Dan Douros is doing the writing on Godless (the western book) but I do write myself and have several years of projects planned out. I'm glad you like the colors, doing all of the art myself really keeps me motivated and fresh and actually helps me improve all aspects of my art. We're currently looking for a publisher so hopefully you'll see the book on the stands soon!
