{ | Maybe it was a bad idea to wake up a hyperactive child at 2 AM, but Zim had plans, and he intended to go through with them. He stood at the doorway of the boy's bedroom, only faintly visible from the light of his phone, which he gripped in one gloved hand. His voice was hushed, probably so he wouldn't wake up his parents. }
{ | After a moment of silence, he made his way over to the boy's bed, shaking him gently in an attempt to wake him. }
" GIR. I built something that you'll want to see. It's a spaceship, GIR. We can go to space. "

[⛯| As soon as he felt something shaking him, the boy's eyes snapped open and he used his elbows to prop himself up on the bed, looking at the figure looming over him. ]
[⛯| When the other had mentioned something about a spaceship, he immediately perked up. A spaceship? And they could go to space now if they wanted to? Now that was something worth waking up over this late at night! ]
[⛯| GIR quickly pushed himself up so that he sat upright on his bed, a smile already forming on his face. ]
"ooh, what's that?? you made a spaceship??"
"isn't it that thing that space people make in that space place to send other space people to space??"
[⛯| He then had a sudden revelation and let out a loud gasp. ]
"are you gonna send space people into space??"

" Yes, GIR. It can send people to space. And it's much more efficient than those ships that NASA have made in the past. This one doesn't even require passengers to have space suits on while inside, and it's much faster! We could get to Pluto in just a few hours! "
" And guess what; we're gonna go to space, GIR. And it's gonna be glorious. "

[⛯| GIR hopped off his bed and skipped alongside him, trying to make sure he doesn't bump into anything due to how dark it was. ]
[⛯| He managed to stay silent up until they came closer to the lab, where he finally decided to speak up. ]
"hey, so about the spaceship.. where are we gonna go with it??"
"also, won't mom and dad get real mad if they find out we're not in bed or something?? i don't think spaceships make quiet sounds.."

" I dunno. The moon, probably. Close target, y'know? And in the off-chance that the ship explodes, I suppose our next destination would be hell. Try not to think about it too much, though. "
{ | Zim paused for a moment before chuckling and turning to look at the other, a large, smug grin now on his face. }
" Oh, trust me, this ship will be relatively silent. Y'see, it's not like the ones you see on the news. Mine is more like... like the ones in Star Wars. You'll see. "
{ | He led the other into his laboratory, which was a bit darker than usual, which was saying something, considering that it was usually pretty dark. There was only one light on, and it was focused on a vehicle that looked like it came right out of a movie. }
" There it is, GIR... My best work. With a bit of help from an Irken I know, I was able to craft a ship that can get us into space. Amazing, is it not? "

[⛯| GIR wasn't exactly sure what he was excited about the most- the fact that he was going to ride in a spaceship for the first time or the fact that there was a possibility that they could both die in some sort of explosion trying. If he had to pick between the two however, he'd probably choose the explosion. ]
[⛯| The boy didn't seem to notice or care about how much darker the lab seemed to be, continuing to make his way towards the spaceship without making anymore comments. Once he had found himself standing a few feet from it, he made a quiet 'ooh' noise as he approached closer towards it to get a better look. ]
"it's all shiny like my stuffed piggies beady eyes! can i drive it to the moon?? i like pressing buttons!"

{ | He shuddered at the thought. Space was both a thing that amazed and frightened him, and personally, he wasn't too keen on dying out there. But he was quite sure that his ship wouldn't fail. At least, he hoped not. }
" No, I'd rather if you didn't drive. Someday you can, though. Someday. For now, I'll do the driving. "
{ | The teen took a deep breath and opened up the passenger door to the ship, gesturing for GIR to get inside. }

[⛯| GIR pouted as he climbed aboard into the spaceship and plopped down onto the passengers seat, putting on his seat belt. ]
[⛯| He looked over at all the science-y looking technology which were in front of him and crossed his arms to try to and fight the compulsive urge to press as many of them as he possibly could. Of course, that attempt was somewhat done in vain as he hovered his hands over one of the buttons anyways. ]
"hey, what's this button do-??"

{ | Zim quickly went around to the other side of the ship, getting into the driver's seat. His gaze immediately snapped upwards as he heard GIR question the purpose of a button, and in the blink of an eye, he had grabbed the other's wrist, just to make sure they didn't decide to find out what it did. }
" Don't press anything. Seriously, don't. If you do, something might go wrong. "
" That, however, is what will initiate auto-pilot if pressed. "
{ | He sighed and let go of his brother, leaning back into his seat. }
" ... Now that we've got that clear, are you ready to go? "

{ | Zim took a deep breath and stared at the control panel, that awful feeling of dread slowly bubbling up in his chest. It scared him to think that maybe he wasn't going to get out of this alive. That maybe both himself and his brother would die because he had failed. }
{ | He shook his head to clear those thoughts, and shakily turned on the ship, which rumbled to life. }
" Now, GIR, this... might be a little jarring for someone like you, but I've gotta warn you that I need you to stay calm. Alright? "

[⛯| GIR hummed a tune quietly to himself as he waited for the spaceship to take off, legs kicking off the edge of his seat. It wasn't until after his brother asked him to keep calm twice that he finally ceased, his head now turned to face them. ]
"stay calm?? ...yeeeeeeeees, i can do that."
[⛯| That was a lie- or, at least a half-lie. Truth was, he couldn't really promise how he could react in this situation. For all he knew, he could say 'yes' now and then do the exact opposite seconds later like he always did. But he knew if he said 'no' instead that he wouldn't go to space, and he wanted to be an space pajama astronaut like on tv, so why would he say that? And even if he were to die right now in some sort of fiery explosion due to the carelessness of his brother, well, that would be okay since he'd also like that to happen. ]
[⛯| The male gave the other a thumbs up, his cheerful smile now turned into a reassuring one. ]
"don't worry about it, everything's gonna be okay! you'se doin' good!"

{ | Zim didn't usually acknowledge birthdays. If it weren't for his parents forcing him to, he wouldn't even celebrate his own. But even then, it was a minimal celebration at best. However, there was one person's birthday that he indulged in; his brother's. What kind of person would he be if he didn't at least do something for his little brother on his date of being forced into this awful reality? It was the least he could do, really. Besides, it's not like he'd say it, but he loved GIR. He was willing to do a lot for him, honestly. At least, more than he was willing to do for most people. }

He had been so overcome with excitement that he barely got enough sleep last night. [ ⚙| Upon hearing the knock on his door along with Zim's voice, GIR's eyes snapped open and he immediately sat up in his bed, a cheerful grin already forming on his face. Throwing the covers off of him, he raced towards the door, pulling it wide open before lifting his head up to meet the others gaze. ]
"WEEEHOO!! yeah i am! i've been awake this whooooole time, i hardly got any sleep last night! i've been thinking about the birthday cake. did you know that it's my birthday today? huh? do you? dooooo yooooou?"

He then squinted his eyes and observed the device from every angle imaginable. Eventually, something clicked in his mind and his enthusiastic smile returned to him once more. ]
"ooh, ooh, i know what it is!! it looks like a game slave! and it also looks not like my game slave.. but it also does!"
"actually, wait a minute.. no-- i don't know what it is. what is it??"

It actually made him a little happy just to know that the kid was able to figure something like that out. }
" But of course you would not know what it is! I built it! There is only one of these AMAZING devices in existence! "
" You see, GIR, I am not fond of video games, but I know that you are. I also know that there's an unnecessary amount of consoles out there for different games. So! I have built a device that can play video games from all existing consoles! Now you don't need to spend hundreds of dollars on those STUPID boxes of cheap plastic with awful hardware! You just need to get the games! "
{ | The elder of the two let out one of those somehow always maniacal giggles he was known for, and clasped his hands behind his back. He was honestly pretty proud of what he had built, and hoped that GIR would be happy with it too. }

Overwhelmed with said happiness, GIR practically launched himself at his older brother, giving him a tight hug. ]
"THANK YOU!! now i can play every single piggy vampire hunter game in the world because you love me soooo much! i can't wait to fight the pig's!"

It's not that he didn't want to push the boy away, but he just wanted to make an effort to be nice for just today. And if that meant letting his brother hug him, he'd allow it. To a degree. }

" We still have to deal with the matter of your other gift, after all! It will require us to walk somewhere, but rest assured! It is not far from here. "

[ ⚙| It wasn't very often that GIR was able to successfully get away with giving his brother hugs without them prying him off quickly afterwards. And by 'very often' he really did mean very often. So when the other hadn't made an attempt to push him off, he felt completely overjoyed! ]
[ ⚙| Unfortunately, even he knew that he couldn't be allowed to hug them forever-- he was probably capable of doing so, but he knew that the other would probably get mad if he actually did it. So once the elder had urged him to let go, the smile on his face faltered a bit. ]
"aww, okay.."
[ ⚙| After hesitating for a brief moment, GIR finally let go of them and took a step back. ]
