Insanekitty89 featured this photo of yours: [link] and also one of mine in her journal entry. I was excited to jump into my hobby for abandoned places again since I've been away at college and have had no time to really explore like I used to.

I'm super excited for Europe, even though I won't have a car and therefore can't make it out to some of these beautiful, abandoned mansions/castles that I've seen some photos of. Still! I'll be in Oxford for a month and then I'll be traveling around to various places in France, Italy, Germany, and Belgium.

If you can go east! With the weak dollar at the moment, the Euro makes things quite expensive. The train system in Europe/UK enables you to venture to some non-city towns as well . . . so go and get yourself lost.

I wanted to go to Istanbul, but apparently you need a Visa for that. We have free weekends in Oxford to travel around so I'm planning on Amsterdam, Madrid, and Prague...but unfortunately we won't have a lot of other opportunities to wander around on our own outside of our set destinations.

And the visa for Turkey as an American the last time I went was pretty hefty. If I remember correctly you could just get it at the border crossing though. Amsterdam, Madrid and Prague are lovely cities, but all pretty far away from each other!!! I was just in Prague a couple weeks ago actually for the second time. There are plenty of budget flights on carriers like RyanAir that fly out of London for 1p plus tax, too! Try to get to Krakow, Poland as well if you can - such an absolutely wonderful city!

Thanks! I'm from Somerset County, Bridgewater to be exact. The only really local site we have here is the Devil's Tree, so I have to travel a bit to get to anything really fun. I might be making a trip to the Paulinskill Viaduct soon, ever been there?

Yep! I've got pictures of it in my gallery. And in fact, is one of my favorite places to be. I live in Cumberland County, Vineland. So to the Bridge, it's about a two and a half hour drive. We try to go up at least twice a year regardless.
