John,welcome to DA! Just yesterday I was baking my special nut bread, with figs,pineapple and nuts. Forgot to put in the baking powder and I ended up with 4 small boat anchors. Thought you'd like to know...

yeah it can happen that way as some recipes ask for self raising flour plus more baking powder yet self raising flour has baking powder already i guess its trial and error
