Part of it was upon the request of the commissioner of it to be a mix of a Nightmare, Chrysalis and Cadence, 
but my other inspirations also came from some of the insects from Hayao Miyazaki's  Nausicaa, Bahamut Sin from Advent Children, other

various aspects from the final fantasy series, dragons, jewelry, some squids, even some various pokemon and Disney designs as well.  

As you can see my inspirations tend to be quite varied and are pulled from numerous sources.

Very cool, I kinda caught the Hayao Miyazaki reference because I love his art, books and movies. And well the combination of Nightmare, Chrysalis and Cadence was awesome.

It's done on a Soho Art Card which is 2.5" x 3.5"
I'm planing on finishing it out with prismacolor markers and acrylic paint.

Pretty Good! Been doing a lot. I'm taking a medical billing course, looking for a job, pet sitting whenever I can, trying to do art but that's taken a back seat for now sadly. What's new with you Ryan?

Well I just got a new car early this month, I'm going to get a new job in about a week, I'm trying to draw more and I posted some stuff. Basically I'm just trying to learn how to draw faces.

Cool, You did a great job on the recent pictures you posted of Ice, Street, Tierra, and Syla. I really don't think you need any advice or tips on drawing to be honest but if you want to improve or try a new style there are a lot of tutorials on the DA that can give you pointers and ideas on drawing faces, hair, wings etc.

Thanks, I really appreciate the compliment a lot. I also tried doing the pic of Syla seen here: ftanng.deviantart.com/art/Comi… but it's not coming out as I would like it to. In all honesty, I think I made a jump too large from one artist to another. XP
